Wow, such an amazing film... The best hiking documentary I've seen in a while!! I was on Lake O'Hara last year August and it was snowing. Nice to see what it looks like in good weather!

Thanks so much Anni! Ya the weather can change so quick up there! Bet it was beautiful though!
I like how each segment is composed.
Beautiful place, great memories 👍. I went to the hut several times in the early 80's
Nice hike , I did it a few years ago but started at lake Louise , then fuhrmann ledge , then past the hut ( incredible to see ) and down to lake ohara making sure not to miss the last bus It was aewsome
Very nicely documented adventure. I failed miserably in 2013 abandoning the hike just after two switchbacks on the spur trail to lake Osea that further leads to the iconic hut. Essentially, I was not fit at that time. Later on, I cultivated a habit of walking 10 km/day (in an hour or less) and in 2016, I succeeded in reaching there very comfortably . Planning to go again.

Your videos are really great Luke. I went down the rabbit hole this week and watched a lot of them. Thanks for the work that you do, for taking care of our land, and for highlighting what BC has to offer for the world to see. Keep doin' you 🤙
Great family trip

Thanks Luke for an awesome documentary. Your passion and respect for the Rockies and it’s history is palpable and so appreciated. I did the majority of my hiking in the 80s before the technology we have now and I never recorded anything. I had a the privilege of staying at Abbot hut in August 1987. Went up in a blinding blizzard. I loved seeing you enjoy your meal inside. Wow. It helped me remember. Thank you, Jeff

A blizzard would have been tough! Thanks for watching Jeff
I forgot one thing ..Luke you have a terrific gift for filming Its just great.
One of my favorite huts to visit. It's been a while but it still looks great! Going to the outhouse at night can be a sketchy proposition if you've had one too many bevies, lol! Was hoping to get on the Ohara bus this past summer with COVID reducing the international tourist load to the parks but they closed it down altogether so fingers crossed this summer they will be back in service again; Otherwise, back to Tofino I guess. lol!
A bit surprised that you didn't carry ice axes for the steep snow sections.
Just got back from Lake Ohara, watched your video before and after. Unfortunately, we got rained out most of the first day and after backpacking Assiniboine for 5 days, we were a little tired at Ohara. haha Anyway, can't wait to go back, we were able to hike prospector ledge and loop back the West and East Obapin trails the second day, before another storm came in. Will have to back and explore more!

Hey Melvyn! Ah that's too bad you couldn't get a spot! We were there for 2 nights and the second night there was lots of room, only 5 of us total in the hut. That was in early July. I hope you get the chance to go and see it next year!

My friends and I were supposed to hike into Assiniboine August long this year (so about 3 weeks ago) but due to the BC wild fires we had to look elsewhere. On Thursday we were able to book one night at Abbot Hut for the next day from Friday to Saturday for 4 people due to last minute cancellations! Keep checking and who knows what will open up! It was amazing! There was barelyyyy any snow on the way up when I went though

@@lifeofluke That must be a lot of travel back and forth. Practically, after covering so much distance, that too on slop, must be very tiring.
So, on your walking group shots, how do you get the filming done? Do you go back n forth and get the camara? Good filming work for a 1 man crew Speilberg
