Sleeping in a Snow Cave and summiting Mt Jimmy Jimmy

SUBSCRIBE: bit.ly/lifeofluke
In spring the snow is deep in the mountains, a perfect time to dig a snow cave in the sub-alpine, and sleep in it! A properly built snow cave can actually be pretty comfortable, and warmer than above the snow where it is windy. This area is north of Squamish and the next day to have some fun turns on the splitboard, my dog and I go up and summit Mt Jimmy Jimmy.
Thanks for watching!

Good Morning Luke! What a lovely surprise to have you to watch while I sip my coffee. I am not able to get out there myself & I appreciate you so much for taking me along with you. Such a pain in the ASS to film & edit & all of that.

I tried to get drone footage of the peak and giant glacier, but it was so cold up there that my drone battery died immediately -- so I carried my drone and controller the entire way up and down this mountain to get zero footage with it.

What an awesome adventure! Making me miss BC again! Do you ever use bread bags in your boots to keep them dry? Staying hydrated in the winter can be a challenge - I did an 89 km fat bike challenge ride on snowmobile trails this year, and at -23C my water bottles on my hydration vest froze solid. The only thing that didn't freeze was the water inside my pack next to my back. Next time I'll use the internal bladder and the drinking tube.
