Abandoned Haven For The Homeless - Police Were Watching Me

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Situated in a sketchy part of Wilkes barre, Pa lies a group of abandoned houses. At first, what seemed to be a jackpot location, turned out to be something different. After seeing some odd things on the properties and having random people approach me, i decided it was best that i didnt go inside. Upon wrapping up my video, i also discovered that the police were watching me. This is one of those instances where it's best to trust your judgement. I know this video isnt as exciting as others, but hopefully you understand. Enjoy
Please Note: Exploring Abandoned locations can be dangerous. I don't condone or encourage anyone to enter an Abandoned structure. Not only is safety a concern, but often times its illegal and when possible, i seek out permission. I simply go to document its history before it's gone and leave things the way I find them. I assume all the risks & responsibility in doing so. Please don't attempt to do this on your own.

I saw that as well, I get a lot of those in locations with lots of dust if I have the light on, on my camera. The light picks them up big time and magnetizes them in front of the lens

Did it twist anyone else's heart to see the pots of flowers still blooming? Keep thinking no matter what condition the house was in, someone was trying to make it a home. I get the impression someone was killed there hence the sacred place alter. Perhaps the city came in and forced the properties shuttered or condemned in order to get rid of high crime situation? Either way it's curious. Next time go over and ask the cops, they are good sources of info. Thanks. Loved this video.

Wow they’re huge! They remind me of houses I’d seen in Maine. I always wanted to go in a house like that just to check it out. Can you imagine the memories and history these buildings have seen? I’ve been in a couple of smaller houses like these and they were so neat! I bet these must have been quite nice in their day.

Its strange that so many houses in roll abanded. I am a senior and I would not want to live in those houses. Homeless folks that's a different story. Yes the houses were beautiful back in the days when they were cared for. To repair them would cost too much money. Great find JP

I lived in the 2nd house around 1998/1999 when in college. 1st floor was the real estate office of the company who owned that building and others. 2nd floor had 2 apartments but not sure of the rest. It was a well maintained place back then.

I am glad you didnt enter any of them J.P. your safety is paramount ..

Hi Jay, you made the right call. I in a way think it's great that the homeless are making use of abandoned properties because at this time of year it really starts to get cold at night, so many homeless people die on the streets each Winter when they could be in the warm and utilising these old places. Cool video nonetheless and worth the scout round to see the architecture. Thank you. x

Very true sue. I rather them be inside these places than on a sidewalk.

I enjoyed this video because the houses themselves told stories. I can imagine what they looked like in their hayday and I bet that whole block was beautiful. Wise decision not to go inside.

Makes sense since one of the houses was named Mohawk & I thought I saw something with Iroquois on it - I wonder what the other houses were named

Looks like one of the apartments was a doctors office at one point, He is/was a ND = Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine and a DC = Doctor of Chiropractic Medicine (why he would advertise his BSe = Bachelor of Science has me confused). ND is an alternative to a MD. ND's in some states are equivalent to MD's Doing a quick search, it seems Gerald is around 70 years old (probably retired). He's quite an activist in your area (homeless and holes around the Susquehanna River & Kirby Park). Funny he talks about the homeless problem around the river and park, While his old office is home to squatters. I'm curious, do you know which house from the front was his office (since the sign was in the back)? I'm thinking one of the ones with Native American references & paraphernalia

I saw so many white faced hornet nests this season huge ones like that, they are definitely one you don't ever want to mess with. Im sure you didn't miss anything inside this place, looks like you would have found a slew of active squatter activity, drug and alcohol also...maybe come back in a couple years. Interesting video non the less bro!!
