How differently would this fight have gone if Toph had already discovered metalbending??

If she discovered metalbending this early, then this would have been over alot faster or could have gone on alot longer. She could have just ripped open the outside of the drill, peeling off its skin while it was drilling. Meanwhile Team Avatar would have to fight Azula, Ty lee and Mai Lee on the ground while she was fighting the drill and being attacked by them and being defended by Team Avatar. Plus I think she would have taught Aang as well how to do metalbending after or before this a bit maybe.

If her father hadn't ruined her (as well as her mother) Azula would have been known as one of the most powerful and versatile firebenders in history. She would be remembered throughout all of history I think. Instead she's just known as the evil fire princess who tried destroying the avatar as well as her brother.

Weirdly enough; even though Azula is an INCREDIBLE fighter, I see her often falter when fighting other elements than fire, like Aang with air and earth and especially Katara with water. I think it is because she has never had experience in fighting those elements before, since the fire nation believes its elements is the strongest on earth, why bother learning the other element’s techniques and strategies? I She never had tutors who taught her to understand the movements of the other benders, so she just attacks them with force. A fire bender could not defeat Azula, but a water bender could.

The fact that Aang was a newbie Earthbender and still used earthbending most in this fight against like... the 3rd most powerful firebender in the world... and Won!, giving Azula her first L is awesome and that scream from Azula tho.... That rolling firebending Azula used to knock Aang out is one of the very best moves I've ever seen. something I just realized... Aang was never even near a 100% whenever he fought Azula. Also Aang running down the wall of ba sing se like a mad man is one of the most hyped moments of the whole show. MASTERPIECE!!

How Azula just causally kicks those massive rocks away like it's nothing 😗

Man this soundtrack, especially when Aang starts running down the wall, always gives me chills 😮 The beat drop and shout has never gone harder. One of my favourite episodes ♥️😁

Awed by Azula’s ability! She’s amazing! Calm, focused and skilled. Her fire bending is unmatched, she has incredible agility and power. Loved her when I was young and I love her still after the rewatch.

3:47 I’ve always found it so satisfying how Azula is just LAUNCHED at such a high speed off of the drill. Normally she’s just unbeatable 1 on 1 unless someone manages to pull a sneaky move on her.

One of aang’s biggest shining moments that has proved his maturity into realizing his destiny as the avatar and I like to point out that the air scooter the fact that a move he just made up has come in handy more times than anything else

2:04 Nobody talks enough of this moment, he's confronting azula face to face, without a drop of hesitation or fear, and was able to overcome her and push her away several meters in a matter of seconds and was prepared to face another attack like a mad lad. AND HE ISN'T EVEN IN THE AVATAR STATE This Kid is REAL DEAL

This is one of the many fights I think proves Azula is amazingly powerful.

Excellent! Comments are here too! Aang was clearly afraid but fought vigilantly and eventually defeated Azula who could be heard grunting in anger as she fired a blast. He was just learning to bend earth yet he stood his ground.

I tell ya, at 3:46 when I had first seen that since when I was a kid I was both terrified and amazed by Azula's precision. She *ALMOST* gave him a headshot back then! Missed him by a hair! She's my favourite villian of the *ENTIRE* series. Her father Firelord Ozai aka The Phoenix King doesn't even come close!

The bend battles are so endlessly creative it astounds me to this day. I sometimes complain about Aang not getting a real hero moment at the siege of the north since it was the fish and the avatar state doing everything but it makes this moment so much more earned. I get chills every time when the theme starts at 3:30

I think either she understood too late what he's was trying to do (she's looking up at Aang, and not at the rock planted into the drill) or she just underestimated his speed

This scene is engraved in my memory. Definitely one of my best childhood memories regarding TV.

Honestly this fight is what made me truly appreciate just how great the fights were in this show. The choreography's so creative, I genuinely can't name a single time the same move was used the same way more than twice. And the fluidity of the fight scenes combined with how it emphasises the weight of each attack. I love how everyone could tell 1:30 was gonna be a powerful attack by the half a second of charge-up alone. The animators, writers, and choreographers all knew what they were doing and combined their efforts spectacularly. Also can we take a second to appreciate how that huge drill ship was taken down entirely by just 4 people and their clever tricks. It would've been so easy for the writers to just give the Aang gang a bunch of super buffs so they could fix everything through brute strength, but despite that the writers always made their feats impressive but not unrealistic. They win the day with tactics that a small team of benders would realistically be able to use, and with that 6 people could take down a warring nation. Incredible

Azula is the greatest bender of her generation. Her flames being so hot they are BLUE. The SKILL level is leagues ahead of everyone else, especially in the comics! And she’s also a complex character and wonderful villain.

If you're a comic reader you actually find it boring that Zuko beats her so consistently now?. Especially because at the moment he isn't very interesting and Azula is a goldmine of "give her more story arcs".

You guys should've added the actual last part where Mei says to Azula and Ty Lee "We lost."

This really shows you how powerful and smart Iroh was when he was Crown Prince, he didn’t need a giant drill to break through the Outer Wall. They don’t call him the Dragon of the West for nothing.

The music when aang starts sprinting down the wall gives me shivers every time!!

It took this enormous drill to break through Ba Sing Se's wall, and it still failed. Iroh was able to blast through the wall in one shot during Sozin's comet. Even though that gives a 100x power boost for firebenders, that's still an impressive feat and shows the kind if power benders can have.

3:30 I love the moments when Aang combines multiple bending abilities with on-the-fly maneuvers to get through the obstacle instead of just blasting through stuff with energy.

I just couldn't stop laughing at this part when Azula got pushed back 3:47 LOL 😂

I really appreciate how there's no unnecessary dialogue between Azula and Aang, the both got straight to it

The Drill is probably my all time favorite episode of the show, so much action got crammed into this one episode

Aang had to waterbend, earthbend AND airbend just to keep up with Azula ! She's a ferocious fighter.

I just noticed how even tho Azula isn’t an Earthbender she was able to kick ginormous rocks out of her way with her feet. Rocks big enough to per se break her feet.
