This is one of the few shows where the ending battle was very fitting for each and every character. Literally everyone got to shine. And when the show finally ended, everyone got a deserving end to their chapters. Writing like this, made for both kids and adults, is super hard to find these days.

The clone wars went really hard if you saw the last 4 episodes and it ends in a very heartbreaking way but other than this and Clone wars, another one that comes to mind is FMAB(it’s anime though), it’s going to be very hard to see another cartoon go as hard as this.

From Ozai’s perspective, it was probably an even crueler punishment. It’s like Magneto losing his mutant abilities or the Riddler being lobotomized instead of killed. What worse punishment is there for someone obsessed with power, than to be forced to live the rest of his life without his precious power?

The kids that grew up with this masterpiece of a show really got something special

To me, the real thing starts at 10:42 Aang stops playing around or negotiating, you can see in his face that he doesn't see that as an option. He is so disappointed with Ozai he doesn't even look at his pathetic attemt to continue the fight. That silent block with a rock is so iconic to me. Easily the best part of the fight

Ozai was really prepared for this Battle, He even wore pants this time.

Except Aang is nowhere close to achieving his legendary 'Avatar Aang' status which can be witnessed in LoK. He still hasn't mastered the 3 elements and defeating Fire Lord Ozai is just his first step in restoring balance to the world. Aang still has a lot of work to do as an Avatar.

The fact that there are no spectators during this fight makes me love this even more.

How fitting. His forefathers wiped out the air nomads mercilessly with all the power of Sozin's Comet. Aang an air nomad with power of the comet and Avatar State and more powerful during that time shows him mercy. Love it. Ozai was defeated physically and morally. That screeching at 0:30 of Ozai beginning his massive blast of flame gives me goosebumps EVERY TIME I watch this fight, it sounds so immensely powerful, it's insane.

The entire series was building up to this fight, and in only 14 minutes it met every one of my expectations and more. The final few episodes of this show on honestly on par with some of the best television out there, like Breaking Bad, The Sopranos, Band of Brothers, etc.

Who could? Not a single bender could possibly beat a fully realized avatar in the avatar state! No blood bending or lava bending could beat it. Azula was the only one to sneak in an attack on one of them and nearly ended the cycle! Wow! And people still have the nerve of saying she was some weak brat... 😔🥱

Yes! This! I remember as a kid when the day of the black sun part 2 aired, i thought that was going to be the final episode of avatar and i was so thrilled and sad at the same time. But then they dumped a bunch of extra episodes on us, Zuko joining, Aang learning airbending etc. This is absolutely the best show i've ever seen

Yes! And it's not overkill, you know, very subtle. The entire show is that way though. Each character growing little by little piecing their past with their present and destiny. And before you know it, you're crying and yelling at screen, "That's my boy! Go Aang!"😭😊❤

I love how even though it was hopeless, Ozai still lasted a long time and attempted counter attacks vs the avatar state that I don't think any other bender could even manage except for Iroh maybe

@@Darihandsome890 not anymore since Zuko thought him how to redirect it Past avatars didnt know how to do it so they were defensless aganist azula's lightning. Its a style takes time and not very lethal but if used properly can be turned into a strike very hard to avoid and lethal and Azula was capeble of such strike after Zuko told him to redirect it even in Avatar state Aang will grant avatar state knowladge of how to redirect it just like all other avatars doing it.

I love that his last counter-attack to Ozai's fire is airbending at his normal form.

I noticed that but what I prefer is the fact that he didn't counter the fire breath with an air blast from his mouth; it made Aang look so much more majestic as opposed to blowing the fire away.

Bro I tried the live action series last night and I didn’t last 5 minutes. But I watched this for like the 5th time and just think how amazing the anime was. It’s honestly the best done show of the 2000s in my opinion.

The animation for Avatar Aang was a real treasure. This was released nearly 20 years ago and it looks far better than modern shows like Invincible

The sound design of it is brutally unique. Every other move in the show has either "oomph" or "whoosh" behind it, but that one move is PIERCING. It splinters. It's a shrapnel blunderbuss

This show really had 7-11 year olds sitting on the edge of their seat in silence watching two literal SOULS battle. The most climactic scene had no cool tricks, no cool camera panning, no movement. And we were STILL biting our nails. Incredible
