WELL if we’re being technical here it depends on how the paralytic works, and the dosage. Its likely that it just paralyzed that one leg of Appa’s since he’s so big it would take more of the toxin to fully paralyze him. It took a combined 4-5 lashes to paralyze him and some of those were in the face which is often highly vascularized meaning it spreads poison well

Remember when they were in the Swamp and Appa and Momo were separated from everyone else, there were tons of animals calling and chirping during the night freaking Momo out, and Appa just lets out a roar silencing the entire Swamp? Appa is such a boss.

I find it cool how Aang and Zuko always learn from each other in each battle. For example, Zuko uses a move in 2:27 and Aang copies that exact move to use against Zuko in 2:37! Just these subtle details that show how the two are mirrors of each other are what make this show so good!!

This scene is fascinating to me because it’s the first time Zuko and Aang have met again after they teamed up in the blue spirit episode. Their fight looks much more like a dance, and they’re mirroring each other’s movements and strikes. That’s a really clever way to show us their similarities and the natural connection they have.

1:10 the way appa pulled up. I swear appa does more than most ppl. His loyalty towards Aang and vice versa is strong

Iroh stealing the perfume is like that one player that just goes around looting while rest of the party is busy fighting the boss.

I think it’s one of the most appealing fights in the first season because Aang is actually attacking back and being consistently aggressive against Zuko (relying less on evading until he decides to focus on getting Katara's necklace back).

When i was a little i always questioned myself why Uncle Iroh didn't really do anything to capture the Avatar while he was capable to do so as a great general (Dragon from the West) maybe he was just accompanying Zuko as a family and mentor, but still 🤔 Then later on i realize that his attention was never to catch the Avatar, what if actually Uncle Iroh was trying to protect not only Zuko but also the Avatar himself! He was beyond wise :") i love Uncle Iroh

I love this show’s choreography. This Aang vs zuko dual I think is one of the best examples of it, even if other fights are more impressive. The martial arts choreography can stand on it’s own, if that’s all the fight was it’d already be fantastic, but no. We have their bending seamlessly mixed into it. It’s even character driven, since Aang constantly mimics zuko’s attacks. Airbending doesn’t traditionally have any offensive moves, so Aang makes them up by copycatting his opponent.
