A Week Camping On Cheap DIY Raft
Crazy Neighbor and I went sailing down the river for our annual float! We went a total of 75 km or 46 miles. We had no power on the boat this year and relied entirely on paddling and going with the flow of the current. The total cost of the boat was $130 CAD, or about $100 US.

"Crazy Neighbor" seems like the perfect traveling companion. Assistant chef, seems equally content to joke around as to sail in silence. Holds down the fort.

You can pull off what they did in this video, several things you need if you keep trying I’m sure you can acquire for free, then put back 20-40 bucks a month until you get the rest. It’s really not that hard to build the raft they built. Honestly it’s mostly just measuring and cutting wood, screws, and ratchet straps… stuff you can easily learn if you don’t know how yet.

The shot looking at the paddle sitting in the water, and crazy neighbor says "well it's floating a lot faster than we are", I lost it. LOL
The friendship between these two, despite what appears to be somewhat of an age difference is pretty unique and cool. Doesn't appear to be any arguing or awkwardness...just two buddies sailing along a river on a homemade float, cooking some tasty food and sharing an adventure together...just because. I loved spending time with my elder neighbor- she talked about her childhood, taught me how to cook some of her "secret" recipes- we could chatter and laugh or be silent and still content no matter what. The night she passed- I was driving home from work- I was 23. I saw a falling star and I know- that was her saying goodbye. She was the grandmother I needed- and we weren't related (although she was my aunt by marriage- aunt)- she was a gem and every time I see a sunset coming over the mountain where I live- I think of her.

You're supposed to install tire stems into each one of those barrels. And you should have a bike pump. With no pressure in those barrels water will find a way in overtime. Some will be faster than others. However if you put 10:15 lb of pressure in each barrel.... The leaking happens the other way. Little drain valves are helpful too. This way if you do get water in one of them. You use your bike pump to pump it up to about 15 pounds. you open up the drain plug and all the water shoots out. Simple upgrades

Let's go camping Sharon
RIP Crazy Neighbor.
Crazy Neighbor seems like an epic friend with an epic beard! Love the views in this vid. Aside from getting stuck, this trip must have been quite relaxing.
Steve: “Great, there’s a pipe there rhythmically squirting jets of water into the river. I hope it’s water!” LOL! Classic Steve. Really appreciate all the efforts Steve and Crazy Neighbor do to give us entertainment. And yeah, blow torching the cheese topping on the pizza is another classic Steve move. The Step 2 song was quite a surprise! Thanks Joe!

I googled the sign and im pretty sure it was sewage.
When I first saw the hour long time stamp I thought I would just skip through it cause there's no way I can watch 2 guys free floating down a river in a homemade pontoon/raft.........i stand corrected, I watched the whole damn thing ........LOL ✌
Godspeee crazy neighbor, im just binge watching. He was such a joy😢😊
Came to see some crazy neighbor glad hell be on yourube forever a great guy rip bro
It's crazy how I have been watching Steve (and Crazy Neighbor) for all these years. Always had Camping with Steve playing while I worked on my chemical engineering degree. Years later, I got my degree and now doing my PhD. Finally picked up camping as a hobby. Steve, the Gear section on your website helped out a lot especially when it comes to camping on a budget! Another great video, sir. I appreciate the content a lot.

I loved this video. You guys make the perfect camping buddies. Who hasn't wanted to take a home made raft down a river as a kid. ❤😊❤
Rewatching these videos. Crazy Neighbour Glenn was an amazing, funny guy. What a wonderful friendship to witness. Thank you Steve for sharing your adventures with us. I love you ❤️😘
