I own and daily a Wrangler 392 and love it. It’s expensive to buy and you’ll never pass a gas station without at wondering if you should stop, but it is a glorious smile machine that I will never get rid of. Thank you for doing this great review. …and you are correct, it is very very quick off the line, which is nice when you need it to be. It can be a sleeper, especially when the exhaust damper is closed - not many know what it is - which is nice too.

@@hutch2142You ain’t wrong, traded a Gladiator in towards the 392 - yep, it was thirsty too. In reality, the 392 can be driven with a light foot and get a bit better mileage than expected, but I don’t have that kind of self control. I almost didn’t buy it though, decided to take the risk (and expense) and have no regrets. My has the XR package and it is a beast both on and off road. ✌🏻 o|||||||o

I love how many manufacturers are putting loud, ridiculously powerful V8s in everything right before the switch to electric robot pods. I do remember those old Jeeps with the AMC V8, and I'm also surprised how long it took to get a factory built V8 Wrangler. Now it's time for a Hellcat Wrangler, because what's better than stupid off-road fun than even stupider off-road fun 😁

Well there was a market for something other than a 252/4.2 I-6. Had a 75 CJ5 with a 304. Bought it because it was cheap. Terrible gas mileage (about $1 gallon then) 3 speed Manual , About to explode when going 65MPH. BUT could climb a wall with it. Served faithfully from 1983 to 1988. No need for a real trail jeep with a V-8. But For today's sized/weight Jeeps a 318 might just be right

I’m so happy you were able to finally drive one of these. I have a 2022 392 XR and love the insanity. If you put it in off road plus the shift points change as does the throttle sensitivity making on road way more fun too! It tends to bottom out on bumps at 20 mph so I did a lift and shock upgrade to increase wheel travel and make it a true beast. It is stupid fun!!! Oh the dogs are for Left and Right! Take a Louie! Take a Ralph! They used a Liberty transfer case that has weak clutches for this application. Love it anyway!!! I could geek out on this all day! Love your reviews too!❤❤

A couple things you missed…. After hitting the Off-road+ button you can press and hold the traction controls button for 5-10 seconds and it further turns off Nanny’s “plus” acts like a throttle controller. In 4-high it shifts quicker and at higher rpm’s. In 4-low, it dumbs down the throttle making it less twitchy. Also, the disconnecting front sway bar automatically reconnects above 18-mph.
