A Typical Summer Day In Yakutia
Many of you asked what was summer like in Yakutia. So I decided to make a video of a typical summer day in my village. I will miss this day during cold winter.

It's incredible how lovely and lively it is considering how harsh the winters are there. I would love nothing more than to experience life there for a year if I ever got the opportunity.

In such harsh weather you survive and still respect and don't complain of these hardest weather conditions You keep life going That's admirable
As a gardener from nordic seeing this practical garden in such place warmed my heart 👍😄 It's interesting to see the everyday life of different peoples from different cultures, really enjoying the channel.
It's amazing that place can get that hot in summer and super super cold in winter.

I have watched yr interview with Kristina Bolt and see as you have definitive seasons you could make the most of yr short summer and snuggle more inside during winter as our bodies also need rest like trees X

@dan271291

@@jj-if6it Simple: I love the cold, I hate the heat. Frozen tundra is my kind of place to be. I can put up with a couple months of heat, if it means the rest of the year is well below zero. Our winters get an average cold of 15 deg C, summers can peak high 30's/mid 40's. I love snow, I love cold. I know the freezing weather has its downfalls, but im okay with that.

I'm jealous of their super cold freezing weather 😌 that can turn into a warm summer. I'm from a tropical and humid country, temperatures here usually can get up to 35°C and can go down to 23°C in the night, the lowest it has ever been was 15°C - 7°C
Nice
I dream to visit Yakutia....may be in 2021....will meet you soon🙂🙂🙂
Idyllic. Nostalgic.

Whoa, it is like summer in PH.
Şöyle bir video çekermisiniz yakutistanda hangi besinler yetiştiriciliği yapılır?
The audio is inaudible.
Do you pickle the nasturtium seeds as we used to do in the USA?
Summer is much better than winter 😭
we are very lucky to even get 0 degrees here in Australia Victoria in the winter and that's cold but it's not too bad, I could wear a tshirt outside i'm doing physical activity but it depends on the task. I couldn't ever imagine -30 degrees+, that's insane. The summer time here is absolutely insanely hot, 40degrees+ sometimes but on average 40 degrees.

32 degrees in Yakutia? In Ireland it rarely goes below -5 or above 25. I can never understand living in either extremes.
You are so sweet❤❤
Increíble yo vivo en el altiplano de Bolivia en verano jamás la temperatura pasa de 24 grados sobre cero Pero en invierno la mínima temperatura llega -12 grados bajo cero
She's gorgeous isn't she?
Difference between summer and winter😳yakutsian people really can live in anypart of the world damnn😳😳😳
does the insulation of the house help against the summer heat like it does the winter cold?
I want to visit that place one winter to see what it’s like, the hard part will be learning an entirely different language with an entirely different alphabet.
it’s time to stock food and water winter is coming ..it would be up to -71degrees celsius
How common are thunderstorms in Summer?

Up to 20 hours in Yakutsk. More you go to the north - longer the day.
do you have potato bugs over there?
What ? Ain't snowing ??
Wow! Nice looking garden. I love to do stuff in my garden too. Here in San Diego, California I have planted dragonfruit, broccoli, green onions, lemongrass, Thai chili peppers, sugarcanes, cucumbers, Chinese long beans, Chinese broccoli, cilantro, blueberries, strawberries, tomatoes ( cherry and steak ), mint, mangoes and ong choy. It is a lot of work but there's nothing like freshly picked vegetables from the garden. We are spoiled with great weather here. I have a question......how soon do you start to plant stuff in your garden? It is cold there for so long. Do you start them off inside in a pot? Again, thanks for sharing your experiences with us.

Wow! That's cool. We have a stereotype here in Russia that Americans, especially in California, don't grow their own food, they just buy it in stores. Sorry, I'm not Maria can tell only my experience. My mom starts planting seeds in pots at the end of February or beginning of March. There are still snow drifts and blizzards outside at that time. By late spring it is impossible to walk inside our house because there are sprouts all around. In May, we plant the seedlings outdoors. At the same time we need to plant potatoes, clean up the plot, take care of the raspberry and currant bushes, in short, there is a lot to do. We plant cucumbers and tomatoes in large, reinforced greenhouses, which my father built. We plant bell peppers, eggplants in temporary greenhouses. Broccoli, peas, potatoes, berries, pumpkins, zucchini grow without greenhouses. We are harvesting by the end of August

@@ayrat7410 Thanks for sharing your experiences with me. What are sprouts? So you're from Yakutia as well? Being here in America most of us are spoiled and not have to plant our own vegetables but not me I love gardening. California has great weather, not at the moment though cause it has been raining a lot this past week due to incoming storms, and we can plant vegetables for most of the year. We are fortunate. Unless you're up in the mountains in higher elevations we don't have to worry about snow. I have been lazy for a few months and have to tend to my garden again. It is almost time to plant seeds for ong choy (water spinach), cucumbers, Chinese broccoli and broccoli, tomatoes and beans. Have a great day.

@The Fish On Crew What are sprouts? I can't find a proper name for them in English. My English is still poor :(( These are my mothers pots full of the young tomatoes or bell peppers. I don't know what you call it. They are just everywhere by the end of the spring , small and big pots full of the green and young future vegetables. You know, I love history. I know that there was a Russian settlement in California. It is so sad, we abandoned it. California probably one of the best places in the world. But again, who is "we"? I'm not even a Russian, lol. Even if Russians could have had California, we Yakuts would have never been allowed there. I am a young man. I want this war to end soon. To be honest, I am pro Ukraine.
What is your ethnicity and ancestry ? When did people start to live in this region ?
You mean here in yukutia, summer season is only for 3month June , July and August and rest of 9 month highest cool winter.. like -72⁰
In yakutia June July and August summer exists
Is this the same village that gets to - 71 in winter ? The coldest place on earth
Summer don't last long winter last almost tge whole year hell coldest
Our summer degrees reach up to 30 ties. Winter lowest prob 5
Oymyakon village is the coldest village on earth 😐 how do u guys survive 🤔😶
So this is like a homestead? Are you able work mostly from home and be self-sufficient?
@LifeinYakutia

Harps Desire hey! Farmers supply only food by their selves, for other things we need to earn money, we can’t be self sufficient only by selling this food because we don’t plant so much.
Your summer is beautiful but tooooooo short.

@321shack this will be coming to Siberia, respectively it is already there, mostly in the north. Initially it will be negative for Siberia, because huge areas may be converted into swamps. Afaik in Norilsk there were 2 incidents with building structures given in to the softer ground, and letting huge amounts of dangerous chemicals into the environment.
It looks like a different place. I thought it was freezing all year round. How long is the summer there?

what will happened to those vegetation during winter? are they gonna die and re-plant it during summer? and the fruits is it necessary to harvest all of them before winter comes?

Just like in any other garden everything except grass is planted every spring. And yeah everything needs to be harvested before winter naturally or else they freeze and get buried under the snow. It's the same anywhere with even moderate winters.

That's a lot of potatoes for a family garden. There ought to be plenty extra to sell. But do you have potato beetles? If so, how do you deal with them in a garden of that size? (In the U.S. they're often called the Colorado potato beetle. The Latin name is Leptinotarsa decemlineata.)
