A Typical Summer Day In Yakutia

Many of you asked what was summer like in Yakutia. So I decided to make a video of a typical summer day in my village. I will miss this day during cold winter.

Wow! Nice looking garden. I love to do stuff in my garden too. Here in San Diego, California I have planted dragonfruit, broccoli, green onions, lemongrass, Thai chili peppers, sugarcanes, cucumbers, Chinese long beans, Chinese broccoli, cilantro, blueberries, strawberries, tomatoes ( cherry and steak ), mint, mangoes and ong choy. It is a lot of work but there's nothing like freshly picked vegetables from the garden. We are spoiled with great weather here. I have a question......how soon do you start to plant stuff in your garden? It is cold there for so long. Do you start them off inside in a pot? Again, thanks for sharing your experiences with us.

Wow! That's cool. We have a stereotype here in Russia that Americans, especially in California, don't grow their own food, they just buy it in stores. Sorry, I'm not Maria can tell only my experience. My mom starts planting seeds in pots at the end of February or beginning of March. There are still snow drifts and blizzards outside at that time. By late spring it is impossible to walk inside our house because there are sprouts all around. In May, we plant the seedlings outdoors. At the same time we need to plant potatoes, clean up the plot, take care of the raspberry and currant bushes, in short, there is a lot to do. We plant cucumbers and tomatoes in large, reinforced greenhouses, which my father built. We plant bell peppers, eggplants in temporary greenhouses. Broccoli, peas, potatoes, berries, pumpkins, zucchini grow without greenhouses. We are harvesting by the end of August

@@ayrat7410 Thanks for sharing your experiences with me. What are sprouts? So you're from Yakutia as well? Being here in America most of us are spoiled and not have to plant our own vegetables but not me I love gardening. California has great weather, not at the moment though cause it has been raining a lot this past week due to incoming storms, and we can plant vegetables for most of the year. We are fortunate. Unless you're up in the mountains in higher elevations we don't have to worry about snow. I have been lazy for a few months and have to tend to my garden again. It is almost time to plant seeds for ong choy (water spinach), cucumbers, Chinese broccoli and broccoli, tomatoes and beans. Have a great day.

@The Fish On Crew What are sprouts? I can't find a proper name for them in English. My English is still poor :(( These are my mothers pots full of the young tomatoes or bell peppers. I don't know what you call it. They are just everywhere by the end of the spring , small and big pots full of the green and young future vegetables. You know, I love history. I know that there was a Russian settlement in California. It is so sad, we abandoned it. California probably one of the best places in the world. But again, who is "we"? I'm not even a Russian, lol. Even if Russians could have had California, we Yakuts would have never been allowed there. I am a young man. I want this war to end soon. To be honest, I am pro Ukraine.
