A Two Legged Phantom !?!
Apologies for the late arrival today, I missed out on most of the work that went on. That's quite alright sometimes as our son had an event at school that we attended. The crew successfully got the upper strut out of the gear well, and now we can proceed on checking, measuring, cleaning, and resealing the strut assembly.
The song in the opening of the video is "Richthofen", by Meteor. It's one of the tracks on the F-4E soundtrack that is soon to release in DCS World.

You are indeed correct about DCS sims being very realistic. SO realistic that it fooled half the world in to thinking there was a GHOST OF KEIV. 🤣 Great work on this one boss. The ending was definitely good for a chuckle! Oh, we got us an update on CCAS for 2024. We were supposed to get the Italian demo team and we still are BUT added the Thunderbirds I think due to a cancellation! 2 teams, 1 airshow! Hopefully once the F4 is back in the sky, we can coax y'all into bringing her out to Sacramento. Worked on them up in Alaska 1000 years a go, and the cold and just plain worn out struts leaking during the winter. Pain in the buttox!

That's what the right main was doing, it would get aired up and in a few days be bottomed out. That air pressure was leaking into the upper chamber. Glad you guys enjoyed that teaser at the end, got some more simulated F-4 stuff on the way!

@@fastmoverfixer2089 How was the fuel seepage / dripping situation from the wing tanks in the cold Alaskan weather ? I used to spend 2 to 3 hours at a time sealing them up with that blue putty injector tool, in a much warmer climate.
Slow but steady progress. Thanks for sharing.

Wow. Interesting how many intricate “watch fob” parts and O rings are inside that strut. Would never have guessed a big beefy part could have so many delicate parts
That is a pair of big engines, for sure! Thanks for the behind the scenes look at what it takes to keep that F-4 going! Also, tell Diesel Thunder #3 "way to go" for me. Jr. ROTC is a great program.

The dcs F-4 is insanely realistic. And I'm just imagining and early F-4B from VF-84, 74, 102 or VMFA-531 or 542 with this level of realism...
