A Tribute to the AMERICAN SUPER 80 "MadDog"

Yesterday American Airlines operated the final revenue flight of a McDonnell Douglas MD80 ending nearly 37 years of service. At one point the airline operated 362 of them!
Most of you have probably seen the AA MD80 in action and some of you probably flew it. Here we selected some video footage from many airports around the USA including Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Houston, New York, San Diego and Washington.

Thank you for posting this it brings back memories to me I worked at McDonnell Douglas as a flight ramp mechanic and of all the aircraft the MD 80s were by far my favorite they were just so reliable no computers to run anything the empty 90s that was a different story and I also worked on the 717KC 10s MD-11 finish my career on the C-17

Thanks for the videos. Great old bird. I flew the Mad Dog at AA for some 20 years as copilot when they first arrived, and Captain until I retired, and loved every minute of it. AA did a great job of maintaining and supporting the fleet. The engines were great - I only lost one... climbing to 370 at 4AM between Phoenix and Chicago. Diverted into Kansas City, and it turned out to be the fuel temp sensor was all.
