Come in from the porch of merit and trade wages for inheritance! The very heart of the Gospel. Love it!

I am so grateful to the "older brothers & sisters" who have been there to teach the Way and especially for greeting this prodigal with love.

Such a beautiful message. Thank you, Pastor John, the message preached convicted me in a beautiful way and I'm so grateful for it! There's still a lot of work yet to be done in me, but thanks be to God that He will do it :) Now, to go back out to spread this lovely message of the gospel of peace with the lost, so that some may, too, experience this great love, peace, and restoration.

I really needed this in my Christian walk not as an employer of God but as His son. Not as someone who is self righteous but as a sinner in need of grace.

Your faith is real. I see the God of love radiating out of your entire vessel. This sermon is much needed. Thank you so much for all the hard work you have done for the Kingdom of God. I hope God showers you with BLESSINGS and rewards in Heaven. Your words have liberated and spoken life into hurting wounded people.

This should teach us to be patient even with the indignant and proud. Christ had the harshest words for those with wisdom but not knowledge. Wisdom without Knowledge is ignorance. Knowledge without wisdom is pride. The ignorant can still love their neighbor, but the prideful will only push their neighbors down.

Only the Holy Spirit can open our eyes to see the bankruptcy of the merit based system and the joy of sonship!

We all humans have a part pharisees and scribes and a part hedonistic. the part pharisee opposes the part hedonistic , we want to be good but deep inside the core has been injured by the world. Only Jesus can remove the wounds, but you have to carry your cross. Again all human effort to be good is your pharisee part: so believe in The Lord Jesus your God solely to change your nature

After listening to this sermon my first thought was didn't Piper endorse Mitt Romney?

if the father said ''everything i have is yours'', then why didn't he give his older son a young goat to celebrate with his friends?

I believe what is suggested here is that the son could have taken the young goat himself and throw a party, it was all his already. But he has become a self-suppressed workaholic who doesn't know how to unwind and rest anymore.

This sermon is for John MacArthur, Slave/ Master/ Commandments. Jmac does a have a broken dysfunctional understand of God if the true gospel and nature of God the Father - God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. You need help John Macarthur, A will your self righteousness ever allow you to " Go in to the house of The Father?" Hard to do when your whole ministry is devoted to eternal condemnation of real live Christians.
