But said period, that lasted approximately 7 decades, is an exemption in their, over a millennium long, recorded history. There is no evidence, apart from spurious claims made by chroniclers, that the two entities ever constitued two disctinct tribes. After all, even Czech and Slovak are objectively speaking two dialects of the same language, so how could "moravians" be considered a separate nationality, when their common speech never even diverged from Czech?

You are nearly right, but should correct the fact that Slovakia was ruled over by Hungarians for 1000 years. Ungary was a multiethnical country. Greetings from Hungary! I found the video both interesting and largely accurate, though I'd like to point out that there's no historical evidence of war or mass graves coinciding with the Hungarian migration; it was a peaceful process. I reside near Budapest, in a village home to the second-largest Slovak population. Here, the local Slovak (Tóth) heritage is greatly respected. We have joint cultural events, people sing in both languages, and our school provide bilingual education. The highlight of our yearly village heritage day, attended by thousands, is a performance by a Slovak or Czech band. The kind of opposition I sometimes read about or see in videos, like the comments below this, strikes me as odd. Many of my colleagues are Slovak, and people from Budapest often visit Slovakia as if it's their second home. We here enjoy cycling and practicing yoga in tranquil spots along both sides of the Danube. Generally, everything is harmonious, and I feel that the people here are quite similar. On a personal note, my grandparents and their families lived around Bratislava. They were deported to Hungary at different times, where they eventually met. Others from their 4 language speaking village were relocated to various parts of Czechoslovakia. I believe there has always been a mixing of people in this region. Now, we all speak English, so I wonder what issues could possibly arise between such close neighbors, friends, and relatives.
