2: Clawdia: Black and white with a beauty mark. She has thumbs... wouldn't surprise me if she stole them. She's pure chaos but she purrs and cuddles me so it's fine.
3: Chunky: Black with a white patch on his chest. Has thumbs. Needy, crusty, whiny baby... can't live without him.

Have you tried feeding Charlie hairball remedy? It is a mild laxative and might help. Not a bad idea to have some on hand anyways... Charlie reminds me of one of my cats - she is twice the size of my other two cats, and I think probably 18 lbs or so. Thankfully she doesn't chew on things. She sure loves to beg for drinks from the sink though (even though she has a fountain).

He must be related to my dumb fur baby. He was really into eating bc blankets, hoodies and socks when he was that age. Like turned them into Swiss cheese. I had never seen anything like it, but as he got older he gave it up. Hopefully he passes it quickly! I know that stress (and expense🫠).

My cat has chewed christmas ribbons in the past too, she pooped them out on both occasions it happened. They were hard to notice in the poop because she would chew them up real good, I had a hard time seeing them. It looked like a couple chunky glitter flecks mixed in with her poop. She didn't have any tummy issues throughout the process thankfully, I was the only one suffering those few days 🤣

One thing to know is if you see the ribbon hanging out of your cat's butt is to NOT pull it because it could mess up their intestines. Ive had multiple instances with my dumb cats and thats the advice the ER vet told me!

Once I was fixing my grandma's coat and I put my needle and thread down for like 10 seconds and when I went to pick it up it was gone. I was looking everywhere for it, then one of my cats ran past me, this glint of light caught my eye so I chased him. The needle was dangling out of his mouth on the thread, he had swallowed the thread and I had to pull it out slowly from all the way down his throat. If I hadn't of seen the flash of light he would have eaten the needle too and I wouldn't have had a clue. Cats - they are so smart that they come all the way back around to being so stupid

Justice for Charlie! You say he's kind of dumb, but he also opens drawers and even a step-on garbage can. Sounds clever to me! I used to describe my former cat, Henry, as dumb as a box of rocks in some ways but also very clever in others, and it sounds like Charlie is the same. He also looks very much like Henry, so I've always had a soft spot for Charlie. (And be extra, extra careful with the dental floss. Henry had an expensive operation once when he stopped eating and pooping entirely and the first thing the vet asked about was whether we used dental floss. It wasn't that, but it sounded like that is something they see often enough. Hope he rainbow-poops soon!)

Charlie reminds me of when my job as a kid was to pull the Christmas tinsel out of the cat’s butts. Do you remember that plastic-y tinsel we used to get in the 80’s? Stuck to everything. The cats ate it and it would come out of their butts, but it was long, so not all at once. 😂😂. So when a cat came along that had tinsel out their butthole, it was my job to pull it out. Man, the 80’s were wild. Why didn’t we just stop using it?!

Oh my god, I totally underatand your stress and panic. My dog was around 7 months old when she swallowed a bandage roll, also right in front of me. And this happened at like 2-3AM. My mum and I immediately grabbed her and went to the ER of the vet hospital. And oh did I spend a lot of money, especially because of the time it happened. And she had to have two ultrasounds. One the next morning, and another one 3 days later. The vet said she couldn't see anything in the ultrasounds, so she believed my dog had already pooped it. She was acting normal, eating, pooping, playing, so we tried to trust the vets and go on with our lives. NINE days later, out of nowhere, as I was watching TV in the living room, she started acting as if she was going to throw up, and then there it was. The bandage roll. The whole bandage roll. I was terrified but so relieved. Anyway, I hope there will be a 🌈💩 soon and that you'll be able to relax for a bit hahaha Also, it sucks that the book wasn't as good as you thought it would be. Hopefully the next one will be better!

She eats all things string related so all my shoes, bras, elastics, hair bands are sealed away in boxes and she s medicated for stress so she's doing a bit better now but I wouldn't test it, still hungry for strings ! Having a cat with this condition is quite stressful but once all the triggering things are put away (and you get the hang of it and do it by reflex) it gets way more easier to live with it! It is stressful but it is manageable!! Also baby security thingies are your friends for drawers ahah For the insurance mine is 50 a month per cat (I m in canada) but I would still insure just that one before any diagnosis is done if it s not too late already! > Courage a toi et a Charlie!! I have had to get my cat 2 separate surgeries to remove crap from her intestines. $3000 dollars each and 3 years off my life each time. My advice - absolutely every hair elastic must be kept locked up, every ribbon thrown away, no strings at all in the house. We have to be super vigilant about not bringing this stuff home.

I think some animals see it as a personal challenge to eat whatever they can fit in their mouths. When my roommate first got her puppy, he was terrible about chewing and eating everything he found. He never touched shoes, but two different times he wound up with a blockage that had to be surgically removed, and it was full of hair, dirt, twigs, string, fabric from toys, and pieces of plastic. He mostly grew out of that, but that first year was a constant effort to never leave anything on the floor, lol. I've never vacuumed so much!

We found out that this is his favorite hobby when he was walking around the house with what looked like his entire small intestine dragging behind him out of his behind. We once had a cat who ate the tinsel off the tree, since my boyfriend was the one who wanted the tinsel in the first place, he's the one who got to pull it out of her hindside a few days later with her howling. Hopefully he’ll have a 🌈💩 soon. I would have scissors handy! It’s likely that only part of the ribbon will appear & you’ll want to snip off what is present. And kibble will help protect the intestines by “bulking” it up. I too have a furry, lovable, void… and she has pica. We’ve been there with curling ribbon, a beauty blender (that was an expensive 7 enemas), a many more things. I do knit! And she’s never eaten yarn. We also have a lovely gray fuzzy girl in the family who will do all she can to eat anything cellophane or similar including envelope windows & shopping bags. Earlier this year she swallowed a plastic shopping bag handle… it showed up about 10 days later, a little at a time. Best of luck!

My cat is a siamese mix. She chews on everything and needed emergency bowel obstruction surgery 2.5 years ago (She ate a large velcro strip used to tie cords). A year after she developed chronic pancreatitis. But not to completely freak you out, she has eaten much she shouldn't and usually passes without trouble. You will be highly stressed each and every time though. Thankfully they are worth it. 😊

you may be expecting a lot if you expect your cat to poop rainbows my boyfriend was watching my dog (Cookie) for a couple days, of course , he ate something. You talk about having a heart attack , and being very mad. Cookie swallowing a pic, one of the tooth flossing things with the small pointed end. Took him to the vet , it had traveled to the lower intestine ,I had to feed him 2 big cans of dog food he's never had to make him poop. THat caused grey hairs for a week. And no more puppy sitting for boyfriend ,he's long gone Good luck , he is your baby

Prétend en français ne veut pas dire faire semblant. Ça porte à confusion mais c’est affirmer quelque chose. 😊

I've heard prétendre translated as "to claim", is that not a thing? I'm just an American teaching myself French online, but I bet that's what they were going for at least, whether it's right or not.

I’m French and yes, prétendre can definitely be used as to claim as it is a synonym to “affirmer”.

Maybe it's a difference between Canada French and France French. You know how the meanings of words in US English and British English can be wildly different. It seems like most English-French translators are for France and that's not what you want if you're trying to sell a product in Canada.

Yeah we've had fun translation fails in the past. One of the most well known is a car that's called "lacrosse" which France French will relate to the sport... in Quebec it can also mean masturbating or ripping off someone lol

My dog swallowed a wooden cat toy from our neighbors right in front of me and everyone at the vet's knew he did. He never pooped it out, but no internal struggles for him. I just hope we'll never have to have him back for another issue and having to see that it's still there on an x-ray.

The vast majority of kittens do grow out of the eating everything in their teens, so maybe/hopefully that will mellow out in the next 6 months. Then again with your luck you'll probably have the one that doesn't outgrow it!

When our cat was still pretty young, my husband comes home and sees a green shoelace coming out of her butt. He didn't really know what else to do but put her in the bath tub and he slowly pulled it out. Google says that's NOT the best way to handle it, but sometimes our brains don't think that far in advance and just take action. The removal experience was so upsetting to the cat, she's never eaten anything like that ever again. And she leaves my yarn alone.

Fellow fluent frenchy, “on prétend que” translates to “It is said that” or “It is claimed that” or “It is argued that”. So that didn’t sound weird to me at all haha but maybe French Canadian is different??? I don’t know 🤷‍♀️ But yeah, prétendre means both to pretend and to claim in France French (: I hope Charlie is doing well !!!! ❤️🌈

My cat swallowed a pink ribbon back in 2020, but he was a bit more dramatic about it. It took about 48 hours for the ribbon to reappear. They kept him in the kitty ER hopped up on fluids until it passed ... 2,000 dollars later... 🙄🙄 But he's alive and I love him very much. We now have supervision with any ribbons. He's also a Siamese, smart but obviously not smart enough to not swallow a ribbon.

My dog swallowed a 6×18-in piece of plastic once, it was a clear sheet of plastic and I don't even know where it came from. It didn't hurt her, butt she did need help getting it out though. Cats are more flexible so he might be able to help himself, prepare yourself in case you need to give him a hand getting rid of the second "rainbow tail" :/

My indoor cat loves to chew grass and if I don't have fresh wheatgrass for him he starts chewing on other things. Luckily he's a picky eater and doesn't actually eat too many things, but man does he get a bit annoying when he doesn't have his own plant to gnaw on.

Yes you are stressing too much about it imo :D I think if he doesn't have a problem (not vomiting or something) then he probably won't have any. My old cat ate a gummy ring and she vomited and had to be operated (I think, I was very young). Just if you see that the ribbon is coming out, don't pull it because you can do damage with that, it has to come out naturally.
