It's just what I was thinking. She was able to distribute the spaces in a way that it didn't look bad and she could put up some decoration while she filled the gaps by buying more books. Why put books you don't want to have there just to see the bookshelve full? but oh well, she still did a great job hahahaha

I still remember on 10th Jan , 2022 , I found her for the first time making a bookshelf , using her own pics as memes , punching holes in the box ( its satisfying af ) , WE HAVE COME A LONG WAY !!!

​@maditales I have a few Billy Book Shelves but I find that they are about 5 inches deeper then what I need for most of my books. So I bought Ikea "Bookshelves" that are made for DVDs and CD. They take up less Space.

As a suggestion for the gap behind the special edition... Amazon sells clear L-shape gap blockers for under the couch that could help prevent the books from falling into the abyss behind the shelf. You can use 3M removable tape to secure the blocker to the wall, to the shelf or both. She library looks great but dont feel bad about the book you had to pull from under the bed... treat them as placeholders for books you will love to display later 😊

Nah because the people who do this tend to be collectors more than they are readers (I.e. having to be extremely careful of keeping the book in new condition to the point where reading it is unenjoyable). Have a friend like this who lent me a book and had to give up halfway because my reading pace was soooo slow due to the way she demanded I hold the book 😭

@@Kalani_Saiko “household” - as opposed to individual book collectors some with multiple copies of the same book. Different can of worms. I know this especially because my dad is a book collector so growing up we always had a home library along with 1-3 bookshelves in every room.

Love this video. I really want such a shelf myself at some point. Idea; you could've maybe used an empty shelf next to the chair to put your drinks and stuff:)

I had the same gap between my Billy bookshelves, and I just put in a small screw to screw the bookshelves together at the top, and it got rid of the gap!

The shelf look amazing. If you are so bothered by the books under the bed being on the bookshelf you can put them on the shelfs behind the chair. That way they would be there and no one will be able to see them :)
