Thank you. From the rural southern greater Somalia. All I got is welded pull-up bar with a dip bar connected together that I designed when I got here and I wanted to start a workout team which I do have now. Thanks for the tips sir. I am just at an beginner level. Can't do mascle up or any other fancy stuff yet.

You should also prioritize spinal flexion since that’s the primary function of the rectus abdominis you can also train your transverse abdominis with vacuums and bracing

I love leg raises, when I actually do it right that is, but for some reason my body occasionally just decides to completely fuck it up, and when this happens I never quite figure out how to engage the right muscles and it just goes to shit (maybe it's got something to do with what exercise I do just before?) Anyway I'm definitely gonna try these from now on, thanks man! 🙏

Nice! I have always done legs lifts with a pull up grip but now I will do them with a chin up grip.

Really good and solid advice. I myself learned that leaning against the post or wall bars, to relief my back from stress and concentrate more on abdominal. Only way later I returned to hanging, but more for training stability than develop abdominals

Would you recommend adding a pause to essentially hold an L-Sit for a second or two, or is it better to just pump away and try kick the legs as high as possible?

Slow and controlled is best because you're focusing on contraction and time under tension

If you practice kipping on this exercise, you will lose the motivation to go slow and controlled, which is a miserable grind.

In gymnastics we guys did hanging leg raises from the girls uneven bars. Use the one where you butt is just a few inches off the floor. Then raise your legs from that starting position. It keeps the ROM to 90° and prevents using momentum and forcing the abdominals to do most of the heavy lifting.

why is this one of the only callisthenic movements to consistently aggravate my low back? No other exercise hurts it quite like these. Am I rotating my lumbar too much while doing it or does it just naturally load the lumbar with weight? right now i can only even do them with knees bent so it shouldnt hurt to much.

Yeah, good form, totally natural position of the shoulders...try replicating the same form just with your arms up without hanging, bet you can't get you arms perfectly straight without all your weight pulling you down

Taking a certain load off a muscle group isn’t going to increase the load on another so the first option is far from bad but has no real benefit aside from feeling less back fatigue. The second option is 👍 though.

I don't think support is beneficial for this. Abs work best when the force is not distributed in something else like a chair or a machine. Abs get worked when you lift heavy weight standing up. Abs are or balance, so it's better to not do anything to cheat balance. Let them work.

That is B.S. The best work out for a particular muscle group is always, *ALWAYS* when you engage mostly the muscle group you want to built. Your arms will tire up long before you exhaust your abdominal muscle. Waste of time and energy!

Most calisthenics athletes and gymnast's already have the grip endurance for it, if your arms become a limiting factor use straps.
