Blesses be Leah - another job well done!

    +Jan Filbeck Free speech has a price and if you don't want neg. comments ignore them. The expression don't feed the trolls is an expression for a reason. We don't need more censorship on the net or anywhere else. People that really want the information you are providing will appreciate it and the trolls will be trolls.

    +staggerlee14760 There's no such thing as "free speech" on a web site or a video comment thread. Yeah, someone is free to post anything they want, but the moderator is just as free to delete it. Some people seem to think that "free speech" means freedom from any negative consequences of what they say, or that it overrides someone else's freedom to not listen to it, or to not include it in their video comment thread. Do you really think web site moderators aren't free to filter comments?

  • @staggerlee14760

    @staggerlee14760

    The point I'm making (maybe not as well as I'd hope) is there is trolls and you or any moderator will not stop it without disabling comments entirely so I would just say to ignore them would be the best way. "Do you really think web site moderators aren't free to filter comments?" It depends on the the intent of the web site. If you want to preach to the choirs then by all means censor it but don't think you will have an open debate that way.

    +Jan Filbeck thank you! For real ppl get so sensitive. Everyone is going to have "their way" . I am pretty sure she doesn't put these vids out there for the pros but for DIYers...if you are a pro and watching her videos, you are learning, if you think you have a better way to do it then why are you watching anyway? Jeez. This angers me because its not just in carpentry or whatever..its in every single genre of things. I have a parrot and If I watch videos , then you have ppl that raise parrots for their entire lives doing the same thing on these comments...getting mad and arguing. LIVE AND LET LIVE...sheesh

    Also, you can also use a Dremel type tool with those little drum sanders or even a diamond disk bit to clean up and fine tune the edge. That's what I usually do. Sometimes you'll find the floor not being level is the main problem, which requires tilting the coped profile slightly to get a tight fit from top to bottom.

    I just cut the back of the baseboards with a razor knife. The reason they don't fit is the rounding of the inside angles of the wall. If the wall is off by a degree or 2 the gap will not matter. The 45 degree cut is not the problem. Just carve out the back corners more at the bottom and only very slightly at the top. This is a very fast process, a few seconds per corner.

  • @F8Friend

    +Stan Rodgers I've done something similar, but occasionally I have to carve, check, carve, re-check... This just seems more straightforward.

  • @Stan_in_Shelton_WA

    @Stan_in_Shelton_WA

    8 жыл бұрын

    Candace Winslow My point is that nothing will make it fit right except rounding/matching the back radius to the radius of the wall corner. It has to be done because corners are not square, they are radiused. Bad fits are almost always due to that more than the actual angle of the bevel.

    Never had to use a file, but know that they only cut in one direction. Pulling back with any pressure on it risks ripping out slivers away from the edge. Cope a separate piece a foot or two long, and hammer it into the corner first, causing a slight detent at the coped edge, and your actual piece will fit more snugly.

    Thanks so much for this video. I don't own a miter saw but I do have a coping saw and am anxious to try this method. I've used square blocks in corners in the past so that I wouldn't have to miter the corners since they are so hard to get perfect. Thank you for taking the time to show us how to do this!
