To all you youtubers out there, this is how you produce a great informative video, NO music, NO pop ups, NO stupid gimmicks, NO arty farty videoing, just two guys discussing something they are obviously very passionate about, brilliant content, unbelievable knowledge, without doubt one of the best videos I've seen for a very long time, Thanks lads for a very enjoyable hour.

That's one of the best car documentaries iv ever seen and the fastest hour ever

Adam and Paul, thank you guy's, this has been the best hour I've had for ages, I worked at Bristol Street Motors in Bromley through the 1980's, right in the Sierra Cosworth heyday, Pre delivery inspections, servicing and modding them. I remember having probably 10 pairs of RS500 fog light grilles, god knows how many other Rouse Sport and RS500 parts under my bench (we were Rouse Sport and Turbo Technics agents) if only I knew then..!!!!! Seing all these famous cars, being worked on and looked after by such an expert is great, listening to your conversations about them fantastic, really enjoyed it. Cheers.

As an Australian who treats Bathurst as a holy site, I'm glad to see those old Dick Johnson cars are still around and being cared for. Loved seeing the Brock/Rouse Sierra in another one of Adam's videos too.

The best video i've seen for ages, that Paul Linfoot sure knows his stuff.

Paul Griffiths yeah he is very well known in the RS scene and knows his stuff!! I am sure he had a mad red cossie he had built was rapid sure I seen it at donnington race track sure he solid parts for RS cars there were to places I used for my parts was paul and Andy at the other RS place which the name has gone right out my head gave them enough money too was it passion Ford or was that the website for fords ( the name will come back to me) I will look once I am finished. Keep up the great content and I love the wee scaled down touring cars too. Great really enjoyed this one👍😀

I’ve only just seen this, but as a massive Australian touring car fan, and growing up watching this era of cars on ‘the mountain’...can I say, I’m so glad that the DJR cars are being fettled and looked after by your mate Paul...even thou they’re in the UK and not home in OZ

I could listen to Paul talk about the best era of touring cars all day. Thank you for making these videos! I'm a huge fan of the ATCC, watching back old bathurst 1000's all the time, and hearing about djr2 and what happened to it....just fantastsic. Lovely to hear the passion Paul has. So glad you keep going back to visit - you should encourage him to upload an odd video himself everynow and again :)

Great Video! I live in Perth Western Australia; I just learnt more about the late 80's Australian group A racing from this one video than I ever have talking to locals that watched the races live at Bathurst. Thanks KZread for recommending this and thanks Paul for your extensive knowledge!

Adam this has been the best hour I have spent this week watching this,I brought a water swirl pot off paul a few years ago hes a top bloke. I use to watch the cosies racing on the tv when I was at school. Last year I brought a boot leg copy of the 88 89 and 90 touring car years I was on the edge of my chair watching it...

Wow, awesome video, I am an Aussie, and in 1988 had the pleasure of going to Mt Panorama and watching the then Tooheys 1000, as a 9 year old, and seeing these Sierra's racing. I met Colin Bond, and have promotional folder from the Caltex team with specs and everything. Thanks for the memories

Texaco had the edge but I always liked Andy’s cars maybe not the best to look at like texaco but the budget was a lot more with the bigger named sponsors imho there all great cars mate never seen a RS since them wish I had kept mine likes but a cant afford one now so have a E46 M3 👍

@@scottmoffat8378 I don't think there was a Group A RS500 that wasn't fast, but the DJR Sierra's had an edge towards the end. DJ was also the individual that manufactured the 9" diff for the Group A RS500 that put an end to all the early diff failures. IMO it was definitely the best period of motorsport, everything these days seems to pale in comparison.

ByteOn Computer Services mate totally agree with you about that then was the best days in touring cars and mate I love RS FORDS had a few too 😂 as you say djr car’s where always fast but he mainly raced in Australia is that right? Well Andy Rouse was the British dick Johnstone if you get me? His 3 door cossie’s were always a bit faster they actually made some rouse cosworth’s in the RS Sierra saff anyway I watched it on Sunday sports wish they had cars like them instead of what race today man boring!!😞 they were the best days racing these mad cars like 6R4 5 turbo 11 stuff like that loved it but they killed them all off and only classic racing you can see them poor likes. Sure I have a few videos on VHS lol 👍

Fascinating insight into these Cosworth touring cars. As an anecdote, back in the day when I was living in Essex, one of my dad's mates was doing development testing for Ford back in the eighties and one of his assignments was to run the prototype for the original road car up and down the country to log faults and issues with the powertrain. This was in what looked like a 3-door 1.3 base model Sierra but was in fact a development mule. From top of the M1, the cops clocked him speeding (crazy fast) and sent out a car to go stop him but amusingly they just couldn't keep up him. They had to put a road block in around Northants to stop him and he had to explain what was going on. He showed them his ID and they sent him on his merry way. Another one, I was walking down Colchester high street towards the castle, with my mum (I must have been 11 back then) and from a distance I hear a car with a really loud dump valve driving down the road. The thing got even louder until it was beside me and I realised it was this gorgeous metallic grey Sierra Cosworth, and it looked smart... Ooft... Fast forward 4 years and I had a discussion with one of my Uncle's mates and he mentioned something about Essex Police were hunting boy-racers in modded cars goading them to race around Colchester only to pull them over for taking the bait. What car was is it? A metallic grey Sierra Cosworth with a really loud dump valve 😂😂😂

Great stuff some really nice cosworths nothing wrong with having a bike in the kitchen I have a genuine RS500 body kit back axle front axle diff,6 speed dog leg gear box the complete car bar the shell in a bedroom up stairs too afraid it would get robbed in the shed

B&H car st Bathurst in 1990 was super quick in practice, but unfortunately couldn’t convert in to a pole in the top 10 shootout. Klaus Niedzwiedz showed the way in the Eggenberger Sierra and got the pole. The race was probably one of the best Bathurst races ever.

Just recently came across your channel Adam, never been lucky enough to have a 3door cossie but had a saph and quite few other old xr/rs fords back in the day. Slowly working my way through all your videos, loving it. Helping get through lock down mate.

Albeit an old upload this stuff is cool. I've been watching you two all evening. I remember my dad getting a large ish die-cast texaco livery rs500 in a petrol station if I remeber correctly. Must of been a good 25 years ago. No idea what happened to it as he kept all his models cars and I now own them.

Great video, I’ve been to Paul’s garage and had a guided tour of the cars, amazing place, I spent a few hrs showing him how to use his small lathe and got the tooling for it. Those cars are stunning .
