You will love those Rancho Gordo beans! Also, thanks for the deep dive into the new book. I think it's going to be his most important one, when all is said and done.

New subscriber here - just found your channel today (the Japanese daily dozen recipe video). Thanks for this review, very helpful. I look forward to reading the book. BTW Rancho Gordo heirloom beans are the best! I can get them in stores here because I live near them, but I've also ordered from them online and they were quickly shipped and even more variety.

Thank you for an excellent book review 👏 much appreciated. I’m new to Dr. G. I love your Japanese versions. Do you use Soba noodles much? Could be a ‘grain’ item on the daily dozen..

Thank you for the review! Dr. Greger's books are in my list of books I want to read. Now that you reviewed 'How not to age', I feel I should start from this one. However, although I speak, read and understand English (I lived and graduated in London), I think I should wait to find the book in Italian (my mother tongue) due to its contents. Probably I would understand his words better.

  • @EastMeetsKitchen

Hmmm I wonder if he does an Italian version. You're right that some of the science sections can get quite technical but I found How Not To Die a pretty easy/good read so maybe you could even look into that one first. It's Dr. Greger's original one and it's really the one that made me consider going vegan. (Plus it sounds like if you went to school in London, I'm sure it won't be that big of an issue.)😊

Yes definitely do. And plenty of good books and online articles on foods/techniques, things to do/not do for sleep. I'm going to do a sleep meal plan video soon (sounds counterintuitive but some food items do help). But I think the main thing is that people realize sleep is actually a big thing. Like completely a main pillar of health. And I think once you learn that and/or find that to be important then you start making adjustments 😊

I appreciate your beginning explanation, and BECAUSE of your review im going to buy it, now hopefully i actually read it all, but im very interested in the inflammation information and understanding why sometimes i get up 5 times a night to pee and other times i sleep the whole night through. :) thank you. So, not only have uou exposed me to different cooking styles and flavors but appreciate you sharing influences on you as well.

Useful review. The anti-aging eight were not quite what I expected. Your review has made me realize that they're part practical take away, part discussing popular take aways that other people got from the anti-aging literature. Dr, Greger had to discuss NAD+, even if he wouldn't recommend the supplements. This was where he put that stuff.

I must say, I read the book name and then looked at the photo of the writer that he is only 51 years old and It just not go together...I am 60 and he looks like my father, just saying, not to be mean but sometimes the truth is staring just straight at you telling you how things are, and in MY opinion I just do not see how his advice reflects on him, it is your channel and you are entitled to review anything you want and I respect that, love your recipes!

He is bald which is genetic and wears glasses, his neck is not sagging he has no facial lines or eye wrinkles. What people look like on the outside is only a part of aging, its more important about what is going on inside. Just a thought...

I have noticed that vegans look older. I love fruits and vegetables and incorporate them in every meal but also we need some lean meat in our meals as well. I don't eat oils except for avocados and I like fat free cottage cheese and fat free sour cream. I don't know but I feel humans need to consume some meat and dairy in small amounts and low fats to stay healthy.
