😂😂😂 my reading journal is a picture of the book glued on the page, the dates I read the book, the rating I gave the book, and my thoughts on it. It's very straight to the point. I take notes on the book in my A6 Stalogy that I carry in my purse with the book I'm reading. I have my daily journal and sticker journal to make look pretty.

My reading journal doesn’t have pictures. I just write notes about the books I am reading. Nothing worth showing to anyone… although people say I have nice handwriting.
Rachelle: "So if you're doing this with me--" Me, pausing video to run and get the Hobonichi Weeks Mega I got earlier this year for work that I didn't end using, then proceeds to yeet everything currently on the desk to make full room for my Reading Journal Making Activity With Rachelle: Yes, so ready to do this together! ✨ LOL, love this! And love that you're using the Weeks! Going to try this out too

OMG 🥹 youre actually doing it with me that's so sweet. I love the weeks so much and this is such a good use for it. Thank you for commenting!!!
This is exactly how I create my own reading journals/planners. A few strips of washi tape, a couple of different easy-to-track sections, and no-nonsense. I like my planners and journals to be functional without the fluff. Love it!
Last year was the first time I started even writing down the books I've read, and I love it. I've seen a lot of book journals, but I know that if I have an entry I haven't filled in yet, it would keep me from starting the next the book. Just a list with title, author, and date finished is my speed. For those considering a book journal but who worry about a book journal feeling like homework that may zap their reading mojo, I recommend a seperate log of completed titles, so you can still "get credit" for your reading, even if you're not in the mood to reflect in this way after.
What a great idea - especially that it’s a messy/of the moment journal to just capture thoughts about what you’re reading. Inspiring (not intimidating like some impossibly gorgeous layouts).

Oooooh those impossibly gorgeous layouts do intimidate me! I can totally set them up like... once lol. Maybe every few months I have the energy for that like one time but otherwise, the on the go stuff is my way to capture thoughts :) Thanks for commenting Diane!
Hi, I just wanna drop by here and say how much I'm so grateful to you for doing this reading journal setup. I was overwhelmed by others and I don't know how and where to start my reading journal until I come across this video. It's so simple, easy, and functional that it got me started right away. So, really thank you for this. :)
Me in January : I will start reading again this year. Me in May : Any time soon would be good?! Same here - read loads as a kid, and also while commuting on the train when I was working. Now I'm retired and have loads of time I have stopped and don't know why!

It's honestly such a mystery! I always think of myself as a reader and then someone asks what I have read recently and I just... draw a blank.
Good luck! Happy Reading!
I am loving this idea! I have a weeks I’m not using. I think I’m going to join you in this journey! I have been stuck on a book for too many months and I think this will help the process! I use the coleto hi tech pen! I looooove it. I have blue black and pink in mine. Loooove those colors together.

!!! I'm so excited you are joining me on this journey!! This is great. I love the coleto ink so far!
this video couldn’t have showed up at a better time. i just started my weeks 2 days back which i bought because it was so cool and pretty but filling it up with the things i need to do for studying feels redundant and more work than necessary. i function best with just a simple to do list. i wanted to have a reading journal since so long and i have figured out exactly what the weeks will be used for now. thank you for such practical and easy ideas, rachel! so much love 💛
I like your set up. I have a very simple one in a Twist Note B5 binder I got from JetPens. I list all the books I read each year and all the TV/movies I watch each year. For books I'm sure I am going to be assigned in the future for my book club that I've read well ahead of time, I just list the characters and main events so I don't forget when we have the discussion. My younger son is dyslexic, so I did something digitally for him: the name of the book, the author, a picture of the book, the characters, the theme(s), etc. After I did this, I read in The Dyslexic Advantage that this is very helpful for dyslexics!
I have a thermal printer for a few years and stopped using it as archival printing due to fading of print in a few months. Switched to testing out on sticker thermal paper at end of last year and waiting at least 6 months to give feedback and consideration if I wanted to continue buying. So far using thermal printer for tasks and upcoming event rundown to scrap right after. Thanks for a good idea for using up notebooks. Out of the many planners I prepared for the year I ended only using two and keep switching between them. 😊

I’m a bit new to the thermal printer but I’m looking forward to seeing how it performs! Thanks for watching and commenting :)
I keep telling myself to start on the reading journal I’ve been planning in my head and I love some of your ideas! I use the Pilot Coleto pens too. I have three of them with different color schemes. Highly recommend!

I’m a big fan of the ink in these pens so far!!
The video I didn't know I needed! TY.
This is such a great idea. I am using a Cousin (I moved into a common planner recently) to track everything I read/watch/listen too, and this is such a great way to journal

Yes its so fun! and really great to look back on.
just bought my first journal yesterday , and wanted some ides for layout, and this look good. thanks
I would love to see this filled in
I found this very helpful wow thank you!
I started a book journal. So, not really one about reading, cause I know what I already read and for the most part what I'm going to read (I mostly collect series). But I love to re-read my books or sometimes just some scenes. Which is why I do it in OneNote, for the search function. I document where in the (e)book my most favourite scenes are and can find them easily this way.

Oh i LOVE the idea of a digital reading journal. I have types of journals that I use digitally and others that need to be physical. Thank you for sharing :)

@@RachelleinTheory I absolutely love journals in paper, but for some things it I find it just easier to do them digitally. The possibility to search and copying as well as pages that are as long as you need them, help with spreads with reference character like When did I last...
I just ordered one of those printers, my journalling is becoming level 9000 🔥
I have a spread to track my BOTM what I get each month and my back log. It has served me well.

I have yet to set up my reading journal for the year, I been so busy with my thesis! I also believe I was the one that loves the Hi Tech Coleto pens I have all the colors! Do not like the pencil refills though. I prefer my Pentel Twist Erase II or my Tortuga Studio Ghibli pencils.
Love your video style! Subbed 💞 *proceeds to binge all your content

Hey ! Where did you buy the green stencil you use ? Pretty useful size 😊
Where can I find the little 5-star template tool you use, please? X
Couldn’t you use the yearly for tracking books read? Begin date to end date? Just a thought….
I tried once this year but i read more mangas/manhwas than books, and those are ongoing so its not the same lol
Can we have a update on this pleassseeee😊
And this is why I fucks with you @racheelleintheory perspectives going into my mind. Round of applause. Bravo my planner sister

Is yours the 200dpi or 300dpi printer?
Hey I just used your affiliate link to order my poolit printer. Thanks so much Does the paper you used in the video come with the printer or you ordered that separately? Just wondering cause I want mines to look like yours

Hey Nicole! Thank you so much for ordering :') The printer I purchased came with one roll of non-sticker paper. I purchased the sticker paper separately. Read the fine print of the product you bought and contact the company for more info!
