Sabrina Poole does a reading journal... love hers.... and Heba with My Little Journal does a book journal as well. Both have amazing set up videos and ideas on what to include. I found them totally inspirational. I'm actually going to start a book journal for 2024 as well and plan to set mine up the week after Christmas. I do audible books, Kindle books and physical books. I plan to use them all as "books" read. The Stazon Ink is one that is very juicy and has a hide bleed tendency (I'm a paper crafter)... and SURPRISE! You're not the last person on earth to have those alpha stamps. LOL I don't have them. I'm a photopolymer stamp girl. I think this will be a fun journey to follow you on! I'm at work eating lunch right now but I have a list of supplies to keep together -- inks and pens. Lord willing if I remember when I get home I'll jump back on and give you the ones that I've seen several reviews on! :)

I’m currently using a Stalogy for my 2023 book journal. On the index i put name, author, pages. When I start a new book, i turn à New page, put start date then whatever notes I want from the book itself and then the end date. No rating or pics but you’ve definitely inspired me !

Loved this! This is my first year of keeping a reading journal and I absolutely loved it! It's so satisfying seeing to see a journal expand because of the art and writing you're adding to it. I added a daily reading tracker at the beginning of my journal, almost like a bar graph, i have the months across the top and the days of the week on the side and I color the boxes on the days I read and add diagonal lines on the days i did not read. Before starting this journal I was not a consistent reader but i always wanted to be. And let me tell you, seeing all of the colored boxes vs. the diagonal lined boxes is an amazing feeling! 😊 Happy reading and book journaling! 🎉

You have a great ink! It is multi-surface ink and you got a one, it is permanent though. You could get any ink and it would work, to clean use a wet wipe, diaper wipe, and you are good. You don't need to let it dry, it is one of the number one inks on the market, it is water proof, marker proof, and it is archival.

So I just put all the books I read in my journal. I add my star rating and the date I finished it. I do this monthly so I can see how many books, pages, and what genres I read each month. 😊

Last year I used a reading journal from Little Inklings Design, but this video is making me want to set up one of my own for next year 😍 Last year I tracked and will continue to track: title, author, genre, # of pages, start date/end date, my rating, my thoughts, and where it came from (owned, library, borrowed, purchased). As much as I love going nuts in a bookstore, I try my best to borrow from the library first, and I like to see how much I borrowed vs. bought at the end of the year.

I'm a bookworm. Have been since I could put two letters together at the tender age of 3. My mom said I learned to read on my own... And it took several years for me to learn to read a little bit at a time. I can read a book in one sitting, I can read 4 in a row and just stop for eating /restroom breaks... Okay, maybe I still read through all of that. I have read 15 books within a week. 400 pgs average per book. So, I'm a recovering bookholic and having a book journal is just an invitation for forgetting my responsibilities. 😂 I prefer audio books/kindle books because I like to travel and move often. So, my idea is to replace all my physical books with digital so I can be the nomad I was born to be. I still have to fight FOMO so bad every time I watch a book journal/planner and I love your journal! I'm so excited to see you use it and enjoy getting lost in a book. Happy journey! ❤❤

Memento black ink is very forgiving and cleans up with a damp shammy (like a car washing shammy). Stazon is fantastic but you almost need a Stazon ink cleaner to get the ink off of your stamps. Love your videos :)

You picked up a great ink, it is permanent and waterproof however due to it being alcohol based it won't clean easily off your stamps and can have a tendency to bleed through papers. Maybe look at Memento ink and the colour Tuxedo black is another nice black ink. It is water based so clean up will be easier you can use a damp cloth next to you while you are stamping or you can use a baby wipe. It will have less tendency to bleed through your paper, it can dry quicker but it isn't waterproof. I hope this helps. I enjoyed your video and look forward to hearing about the books you read. Now it's time for me to go and contemplate doing a book journal.

Loved watching your set-up, and I SO agree with keeping it low-key and manageable! I started my second and current Book BuJo or Reading Journal towards the end of 2020 and I’m still in it. The way I’m currently using it, my estimate is that I will stay in it towards the end of 2025. I actually wish I’d fill it up a little faster because I’ve already got a really cute notebook by Archer & Olive I want to use next, but I’m not going to force anything either. What I put in my Reading Journal is: a print-out of the book, title, author, star rating (I use a stencil), read from (date) until (date), whether I recommend/do not recommend the book, genre(s), 3 key words/phrases/tropes, summary (of the content), and my own comments/opinions/thoughts on the book.

I'm not sure if anyone else has said this--because whoa, there's over 100 comments!--but StazOn ink is usually what you need to stamp on something very shiny that tends to wash off stamp ink, like photographs. (Think of StazOn ink as the Sharpie of stamp ink.) I'd recommend using either VersaFine, which many people love, or Studio Calico's Color Theory "Inky Black" ink--which is my favorite, because it is even less saturated on pages. (It's very dark, but it doesn't ghost as much as even VersaFine.) For stamps, I'd also recommend you get a Lawn Fawn stamp shammy, which you can get wet, and then it will stay wet for a few hours and kind of squeegee the ink off. If you really get into stamping, I'd recommend looking into clear stamps with stamp blocks; they're a lot easier to put exactly where you want them on the page. (And! You can get stamps with very different fonts.)

Someone may have said it already one way you can do the stamps is to just do them one at a time, and I learned very late on if you want to make sure that they don’t have the little corner of where you pressed the stamp into the ink just lightly press it or even just tap it in the ink a couple times. I honestly struggle with remembering books that I read and what I found enjoyable and what I didn’t like as well. So I usually have the title, genre, author, and why I liked it / didn’t like it and what about the authors writing style I liked so that I know for future books.

LOL! Such funny reactions about stamping...but I get it the struggle is real....ink is permanent! You could always consider stamping on a separate piece of paper and taping it in. Using each stamp one at a time might be easier. But the best advise for stamping words or even using letter stickers....have them not perfectly lines up on purpose....gives you more wiggle room. You did spectacular!

I bought Fourth Wing from all of the hype, but I haven't read it quite yet. I have been using Monica's The Bookworm Life Planner to track my books, and am adding The Book Sisters' Reading Planner (recommended by The Shelfie Chronicles) for 2024, which has a lot of the book stats that I like to track already printed out for me. I like to track what format I read the books in: Audiobook, Kindle, or Physical, and what format I own them in (I really wish Amazon/publishers made a bundle where you could get a physical/digital/audio copy of a book - just give me all the formats, okay?). I like to put a little sticker on a monthly calendar to see when I finish books. Am I more likely to finish them on a weekday or a weekend? Why does this nerdy self-trivia make me so happy? I like to track genres I read per year and how many pages I've read. What I'm bad at is figuring out what to say about a book in a review or a journal, so if you are up for sharing, I'd love to hear some of your reflections and what you want to write down to remind yourself about the experience of reading the book.

I’m not a fast reader either but I do like to read. I should create a reading journal to motivate myself to take time to read.

Could you only print 2 per sheet instead of one or four? Love it but the price is crazy.

@@ionasueschlaupitz6869 it’s actually quite affordable considering the cost of driving to somewhere that prints photos then the cost of the prints if they can even print in the sizes you want/ need. You’re only buying the printer once and the refills for paper would depend on the frequency you print.
