The first tractor I ever drove and used was Grandpa's 1955 Cub. When he and his neighbors bought theirs in the 1950s, they were just the thing for the farmer that raised 4-6 acres of tobacco. I have Daddy's 140 and I personally like the larger offset Farmalls much better. First of all, they have more horse power and you can do more with them. They have the independent front and rear touch control lifts that work separate from each other. A big thing is you can take the hood off the larger ones if you need to without having to take the gas tank off. On the Cub, they are made together so you have to disconnect the the head lights and the gas line to take them off. Great job on the clean up. My 140 needs that bad!

I agree 100% on the bigger tractor….and in the HP, Hoods, and definitely the lifts!! The first tractor I ever bought was a Super A for cultivating tobacco- we did 2 acres.

if your doing a small garden maybe even up to a acre the Cub is perfect for that size. or if you want to do more acres it will do just fine.

You said you were going to change the wheel settings on the Cub. If you are going to keep it, I would set the width the same as that on your 140. I was going to do that to Grandpa's Cub but never got around to it.

Great idea! The front steering rods may dictate the width-depending how willing they are to move!
