Can you believe it? Only 35 minutes to cook Beef Rendang, saving me 3 hours and 35 minutes! 🕒 Embracing our Malaysian favourite Beef Rendang, cooked in true Malaysian style. I'll show you a shortcut to make Rendang in just 35 minutes using a La gourmet Healthy Electric Pressure Cooker 🍲. It retains the meat's juices, resulting in a deliciously soft and melt-in-your-mouth texture. 😋 Plus, using a La gourmet Vacuum Blender makes cooking a breeze, leaving no stains or odors behind after all the blending with tumeric and chillis.
Ingredients:
Beef shin is the best cut for rendang (approximately 1.4kg)
2-3 cinnamon sticks
6 cloves
4 cardamom pods
4 to 6 star anise
2 lemongrass stalks (pounded)
2 inches of galangal (pounded)
Fresh turmeric (pounded)
3 slices of tamarind
1 teaspoon of tamarind paste
2 cups of coconut milk
4 to 5 kaffir lime leaves (daun limau purut)
1-inch piece of ginger, 10 cloves of garlic (pounded)
10 onions
10-15 dried chilies (soaked, deseeded, and pounded together with a few pieces of fresh chilies)
4 tablespoons of kerisik (toasted coconut lightly pounded)
2 tablespoons of palm sugar (to taste)
A pinch of salt
Sliced turmeric leaves
Note: All pounded items can be blended. You may adjust the amount of kerisik and tamarind juice to suit your taste.
