I used to work in a dog kennel that did boarding and daycare. Over the years we worked with two Bull Terriers. Both of them were the SWEETEST, most well natured dogs in the group! Both of them were fun loving, very kind to every dog, including small breeds, and just LOVED everyone who worked in the kennel. My guess is (after hearing your commentary about the breed) both dogs had excellent owners who worked with them. Potatoe is just adorable!

My cousin had one and he was truly a giant amongst other bull terriers (I’ve yet to see a bigger one). His appearance and nature was such a juxtaposition. He was a unit and a truly scary looking dog, yet he was so gentle and loving. I never saw him show any aggression towards people. The only time he did was when he’d see another dog pee on his spot or a cat, he really didn’t like cats. That’s the only time he’d ever bark, but man when he did, it was something else, you could feel his bark/growl resonate throughout your body. My cousin had a baby a few years before the bull terrier passed and man seeing him with the baby was something else. You could see just how much he loved my little nephew. He was so gentle, careful, and was so incredibly happy just being around him. He had such a good heart. Man now I miss that lovable stinky goofball :(.

My wife and I have an English Bull Terrier named Blanche. Blanche is nine and a half. Great dogs to have; they just love their families. Fiercely protective against anyone who tries to get within their “zone” of safety. I can bathe Blanche and brush her teeth without issue. She will not let me clip her nails. That is a task for professionals. I have had a lot of dogs and she is easily my favorite - stubborn, funny, independent (as long as you are near by) and, at my age, probably my last dog. They are absolutely amazing with family and children, very good at reading peoples 'vibes', and just such fun to be around. all the ones I have know have tended to ignore any other dog which is aggressive towards them - within reason! My grandmas last bullie was set upon by three vicious and out of control alsatians one day. Being all white, she was carried home red with blood by my grandma. Grandma had a heart condition so the mile or so home was no mean feat for her, but once in the bath she found the dog had not got a scratch on it! She never saw the alsatians again........

But because of his looks, no one dared to pet him - except me :-) I was little , and my granny almost had a heart attack when I beelined for the new dog on the block! But Tonda, as he was called, was a very well behaved dog, and he saw his owner knew me, and I was just a little puppy for him then, and besides, he loved scritches, so I was allowed to pet him whenever we met and he even waited for me sometimes, when he saw me coming 🙂

I was taking photos of my paintings in a little park across the street from my studio and was crouching down adjusting my easel when something crashed onto my back. I leapt up and it was one of these crazy dogs who then proceeded to cover me in sloppy kisses. His owner ran up and started to apologize but I found the doggo to be hilarious. He was a puppy so I forgave him his lack of decorum. That was the only bull terrier I've ever met, energetic little guys.

We rescued a pitbull named Nala a year ago in July. I had never owned one before. I still can’t believe how freakishly strong she is. She is just under 60 pounds, but she feels like she is a 150 pound dog.she gets the zoomies, runs and jumps into the back rest of our sofa. She hits it like a football player and the front will actually come off the floor. She does it just to make us laugh. She is such a fun, cool dog!

My boyfriend has a pit lab mix and she is so strong that I refuse to walk her. She's drug me on the ground before lol. Super sweet dog but so much energy even for 8 years old. I have a border collie that I rescued after she was dumped with at least $3000 worth of vet bills. She also has a bunch of injuries like half her tail missing and eyes have discoloration here and there because of getting hit and shes missing teeth because the vet said she was chewing on a cage. We think she was dumped by someone running a puppy mill. She is the best dog I've ever had and I'm so glad I can provide a better life for her now. Over the 3 years I've had her she's just happy where before she never wagged her tail. Also I've never had a dog that will stick by you when they're off leash, it's so fun!

OMG! A friend had a girl Bull Terrier named Teensy. When it was raining, which it does a lot here in our part of the Pacific Northwest, Teensy, rather than going out through the dog door to the backyard to do her piddles and poops, would simply back her butt out the dog door. Then with her hiney carefully protected from the wet by the plastic dog door flap, she would proceed to pee or poop!

Bull terriers have been a favorite breed of mine since childhood. So loyal, protective, silly, and affectionate. It makes me sad to see people get breeds like this for the wrong reasons, don't socialize, teach boundaries. Then there's a tragic accident, and the dog often pays with it's life. Always research breeds, socialize, train with positive reinforcement, and make sure your lifestyle is allowing for the dog's needs for exercise, and training, and attention❤

FINALLY!!!!! A bull terrier 💕💕💕💕💕 I have one, she's 11 years old. They're GREAT with kids and they always think they're puppies. They're ETERNAL puppies. If you train your kid to trest them correctly, although they're EXTREMELY PATIENT with kids, they're amazing as family dogs and super protective. My niece is 10 and she grew up with my dog, until we had her 4 years ago, as my sister couldn't have her anymore due to moving to a very small place. They're amazing, supper funny, and such babies. And their ears are like that from birth, they're not cut. Which many people think. Thank you for posting this!!! 💕💕💕

Great dogs. The reason she's never had one on before is you have to either be rich or lazy to take a bull terrier to the groomer. Did you notice how short the video was. Anyone can wash this dog in a few minutes. They don't need to be trimmed. It takes seconds to run a brush over them. They're the easiest dogs in the world to take care of. Who would pay a groomer $80 to do something that takes 15 minutes?

I can attest. I have a 10 year old named Lucy. They are energetic, wild, and hyper loving, which combined with their strength makes them a hassle. They're like incredibly strong children and she definitely drove me nuts when she was younger. Nowadays she drives me nuts for a different reason: Her medical conditions. In her old age she's calmed down, but she has so many things going on that aren't her fault at all. I love Lucy to death, but I don't think I could own another bull terrier after her. They're TOO much like children, to the point that I've worried more about this dog than any other animal in my entire life.

A neighbor had two. I learned that they also love to clown 🤡 around, do all kinds of silly, to get laughs, and attention. The littlest one (45 #) did enjoy zooming around the yard and tumbling like a stunt man on a movie set. He would then shake himself off, and wait for the praise & applause. The bigger guy (60#) was notorious for hide & seek. It was fun to "not" see a 60 pound dog behind a 12" tall plant pot, especially with his butt sticking out one side. The owner admitted they could get stubborn, but were always funny also.

My family had a bull terrier when I was a kid. We were warned bull terriers were hyperactive. Rosie was a dud. Favorite thing to do was nap. Would decide in the middle of a walk that she was done and you could not go any further with her. She would occasionally get the zoomies, but after a few spins and a couple runs around the room, she'd calm down. Absolutely gentle and would lick your ear off.

Thanks ya’ll for sharing your stories: Here’s mine. I used to work at a doggy daycare and we had a bull terrier named Bella that LOVED to bark at the dogs on the other side of the play yard through the fence. She would run back and forth barking and barking even if there was other dogs to play with on her side. She stayed with us for a week and she ended up rubbing her flat snout against the wood fence so many times it was bleeding. 😭 We had to leash walk her after that. I have a lot of other silly stories about Bull Terriers and their wild nature, but this one stands out the most.
