Wow that Yorion deck was some god tier top decking. 3 Wastelands in top 15 cards and 4 Stoneforge in the top 20-25 cards another game. Just accept that the universe was against you that round lol.

actual Tourach might be an interesting option here; given how much some decks are bending over backwards for pro-white creatures, having one that actually fits with the deck's primary game plan seems solid

"I only have one basic in the deck." "There are only 3 creatures in the deck and one of them has to be cast for Throne of the Dead Three to be a thing anyway" Thank you for proving that you can't just slot these cards into anything and that they do actually take a little bit of build-around.

Did this prove that? Like yeah, obviously the initiative is waaay less busted in this deck, but it still did some serious work in several matchups. To me it just goes to show how broken the mechanic is that you can do this little to build around it and still have be so powerful

In the deck tech, Bosh was talking about how getting the initiative through casting an initiative creature was the tech that could let pox keep up with initiative decks and that came up pretty huge in this league. The mechanic can easily be slotted into shells AND is asking decks to play it just to counter itself. Reminds me of what happened when mental misstep was printed where games just became who had more mental missteps in their hand.

I was literally refreshing the page. This is my breakfast content, man. Nothing like ham, cheese and dark ritual legacy shenanigans to truly start the day right.

Nothing is better than watching this channel play pox. This would be one of the few pox lists I would consider factory, or even blinkmoth nexus to steal the initiative. But without crop rotation or expedition map, i don't think its worth it.

really wish Ravenloft Adventurer was online, this deck and the monoblack initiative list and my b/w blink list would all play it over Battlerager i think

I’ve been cleaning that deck out with Gloom and Virtue’s Ruin in my sideboard.

Seeing Vicious Battlerager makes me miss my Jund Initiative deck in Pauper. But then I remembered why it was banned in that format.

A friend, who is fairly new to pauper told me it was busted before I tried it. Me, having a heavy commitment to pauper in the last 7 years, disregarded his take full of panic. Then I built an esper initiative deck and holy macaroni that was busto.

Also, as an aside, good luck going full time my dude! I'm always here every day for the content, even though I thought I'd dislike the EDH showing. I appreciate the daily uploads, and I'm ready to see more content.

I was talking to friends about mono-W initiative the other day, I don't know where it'll go but I feel that at least for now you really need to use numerous sideboard slots for mono-w or at least have a winning gameplan against it.

If you want a black way to steal the initiative from the white stompy decks, you would be better off with something like Nether Traitor. Since your deck doesn't really use the first or last room of the dungeon it would be better as a sideboard plan than main-deck a clunky 4 drop.

If you don't discard a land to mox diamond it goes straight to the graveyard.

28:40 , you're speaking like you're disappointed not having been able to play HYMN to tourach on turn 1, but actually, thoughtseize is better, in this exact scenario for example because you disrupt a game plan. Hymn is only good on turn 1 when it gets 2 lands for example but in most scenarios, thoughtseize taking the most convenient card for you (here the 1 mana elf), and then they play a land and you have higher chances to hit important cards with your hymn on turn 2. Thoughts?

I was just goofing around with Hymn being a more exciting card to cast. Thoughtseize is correct a lot of the time.

Cursed scroll targets creatures or players. You could have finished off the elves player! 🙂 You caught it quick but might need another reminder 🙂

Really dont think this deck needed 3 1/5s that dont even tutor up a land my dude! Though the effect of not being allowed to block lest opponent gets drained by 5 is pretty interesting with the inititive in play

With going full time, do you plan to release over the weekend or otherwise increase your content output?

I'm going to figure out Shorts ASAP to add another dimension to the channel. Once I get some tech upgrades I'd like to live stream once per week, and will probably edit the stream VOD to drop on weekends. That's my plan anyway :)

@@BoshNRoll oh yeah, that was me being a dumbass. When you said "there are 2 4-mana things" I automatically thought about seasoned dungeoneer and this battlerager, and that's why I got confused in the end.

The algae stuff definitely felt like the weakest part of the deck. In general, I feel like reactive LD is just too slow nowadays. It doesn't really matter if you destroy their land when they use it if they were able to deploy an engine piece that pulls them ahead anyways. I loved the Pox stuff though

Fwiw I also expected the Thalia sack.

game 2 v elves. why not play the sphere? you are already in the gutter and boseju gives you the land to crop rotate. no cradle and 2 lands gives you more turns to maybe draw out and jam tabernacle.

I know you think initiative was a healthy mechanic to add to mtg, but I agree to disagree. Mtg has experienced too much bloat in the form of mechanics and too much new product in the name of greed. Reguardless the cards have been printed and will be a part of the ecosystem. Thanks for the content.

I don't think Initiative is healthy nor unhealthy. It's a new thing we're all getting used to, could still break either way. I've just been doing this long enough not to knee-jerk when something new looks scary.

Brian... Brian PLEASE. Your opponent was dead to Scroll in M2G1 (roughly 32:55 in the video). They were at 2, Scroll can damage ANY target. You figured it out eventually, but you missed it completely that turn and it was so disappointing lol

Commander ended up ruining every other format that exists. Its crazy that 25% of all the legends ever printed were printed just THIS YEAR. Its crazy how they just keep printing legendaries like they are nothing just to boost EDH stuff. Those sets should be banned from all other formats
