If you ever am jamming this deck again. Using karn+liquid metaling to animate plainswalkers and enchantment into creatures and then cast smallpox are lines that sometimes get there.

That’s a sick line!

I've spent 4 years trying to get Spreading Algae to work in modern, but the problem very rapidly becomes the fact that while you might have completely crippled the opponent, you have no way to capitalize on this fact. Nowadays with Urza's Saga you can't even find the deck slots for Algae anymore. Love to see it played in legacy though, ain't nothing like a 1 mana sinkhole.

I love the enthusiasm you bring to your videos, they really make them a joy to watch. WAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

at 15:40 you could have cast mox diamond and payed 6 for lattice while leaving up 2 wastelands, even if he crop rot for field he only gets 1 zombie coz wasteland deals with dark depths and if he gets wasteland he only has 1 and you have 2

Just putting this out there, spreading algae is modern legal due to it being in 8th edition. I'd be interested to see a modern variant of this deck

Serious question, around 54:40 is bayou a valid target for spreading algae? If so why burn through the land drop for turn by wasting?

It has been a while since I saw a cursed scroll. It used to be such an emblematic card and I totally forgot its existence.

I was trying to walk him into Smallpox. Either play gets the same result though, which is Lattice in play and no Marit Lage.

It could be, I’ve played it before in Pox shells. I think cards are just better than that now. Saga does so much work ending the game you can save tutor slots for different effects.

@@BoshNRoll Agreed. Urza Tokens, Retrofitter Tokens, and Cursed Scroll do the work you need with the actual winning. The Rack is a fun card though

Tabernacle says "destroy," not "sacrifice" and Lage is indestructible

At 14:30 couldn’t you have played tabernacle, mycosynth lattice and the mox diamond? Than even if he had crop rotation in response he wouldn’t be able to pay the 1 during his turn and he would lose the Marit lage to tabernacle

14:00 You should 100% play mycosyth, even if they crop rotation for thespains to make a marit or otherwise, they can`t pay mana for it to their own tabernacle on their upkeep, as their lands are now artifacts that can`t tap for mana. The only out the opponent has is boseju, with floating mana which he would need a 3rd one, which is unlikely, and he hasn`t used life from the loam to get one back from grave.

You don’t need a card specifically to win games you’re already winning. You could play it and it would be fine, but you can do better with your deck space.

I promise any time someone makes a “painful to watch” comment that it was more painful to play. I miscounted once which lead to a cascade of careful corrective actions and eventually won the game. I only get one shot at these things and Magic is hard.
