Hello Rahen, I could totally relate to this video. When I was younger, I would wake up early on Saturday mornings before sunrise and drive for 30-40 minutes to the water (Miami Beach) to watch the sunrise. Sometimes, it was disappointing as far as the light show was concerned, but it was always awesome to be on the beach that early in the morning. Sometimes I watched spectacular sunrises from the highway as I drove to work. Recently, I started vacationing on an island on the west coast of Florida. I would wake up early in the mornings and walk around the bend of the island until I reached the east side and watch the sunrise there. Sunsets were much easier, just across the street from my rented apartment. All in all, I find sunsets much more spectacular and more frequently spectacular in their color display than sunrises. I don’t know why, but that’s been my experience of watching both whilst living in Florida. Many times, in the night I have my cat in my arms. I can watch different videos but I am not able to comment on them. It was lovely seeing you facing the camera. You have such an amazing face. Depending on the angle of the camera and your hairdo/hat your face looks somewhat different, always changing, always surprising.

Hello Eve, I greatly admire your consistency in making the time throughout your life to witness sunrises or sunsets. I'm sure it had and still has a beautiful impact on how you go about your day or wind down for your night afterwards. And what a lovely ritual on your holidays🤗 Thank you for appreciating me facing the camera. I needed quite a bit of courage for that but I really, really enjoyed it, surprisingly😊

@@RahelStadler Thank you, Rahel. Actually, now that I am older, I don't drive that far just for a sunrise. But, when I go to my vacation island, I still try to go for my "sunrise walks" along the beach. Good for the body and good for the soul. You are doing great. I see you are becoming less and less camera shy. Hooray!

Boy Rahel, you stir up so many memories of my childhood summers on Faial. My earliest memory is of our ship, arriving from the mainland, almost sinking while circling the island for days because of really bad weather. A postcard was made of that journey. I’m sure it’s up somewhere on the island. It was taken with Pico in the background peeking above the clouds and the ocean waves spilling onto the town of Horta. We almost didn’t make it, but somehow did. Seeing Pico’s tip offered us hope that the storm would calm down even as everything inside the ship swung from one side of the room to other. I was 2 years old and remember most of the details, amazing.

@@RahelStadler It did make a mark on my life; I’m a fighter and optimist. I should not be alive several times, but here I am. Life is full of experiences and challenges for a reason. I’ve learned to embrace them all as part of this journey we call life. Like the much abused saying goes; keep calm and carry on. Tomorrow is a new day full of new opportunities. When I think back I am so grateful for nature. The nice red sky indicates Red at night sailor's delight. If it is Red in the morning sailor's take warning. Taking walks in the forest is ideal. There is a lesson to learn around each corner. Helga is a year old and strong! She defended our property against a Mountain lion and she chased it away! Now I am adding a classroom studio for teaching. My daughter will teach when she has time off. When we get our dreams to come true we should be thankful for what we have now. Have fun and make your day special for you are special!

You're welcome Nicholas. I can definitely relate to your struggle with constant grey weather and unfortunately there is quite a lot of it in the Azores, not only in the winter but at anytime of the year. Surely it's more likely to be sunny during the summer months but it's not uncommon to have those gloomy, humid days in the summer as well. Generally the weather tends to be very unpredictable.
