A Non-Boring AH COUNTER Report

At a Toastmasters Meeting, the AH COUNTER’s job is to catch filler words such as: “Ahh,” “Uhh,” “Umm,” “Err,” “But,” “So,” etc. Basically, any words or sounds that would be better replaced by silence.
The problem is: Ah Counter reports are usually super boring! Most members walk to the front of the room, stare at a piece of paper, and say: “John had 1 umm… Sally had 2 uhhs and three umms... Trevor had 2 double-starts, etc.”
In this video, I explain the purpose of the Ah Counter, and give you a live example of me taking on the role at my local Toastmasters club. In this role, I try to incorporate the theme of the meeting (Valentine’s Day) to make it more interesting.
