I wonder if either had a psych eval? The US justice system is just as ridiculous at times, and varies judge by judge. Judges have no requirement to understand psychopathy, and treat everyone the same.

In America they would have received the sentence of life in prison without parole or death penalty if they were committed this crime in the state of Texas.

The judge says, it was a crime of "pure evil", then proceeds to give them 25/30 year sentences. HELLO, justice is a seldom commodity in todays courts.
