I've seen the Borderlands trailer, and I don't even care for the game series. At least Jack Black is voicing Claptrap. As for the Minecraft Tree, it looks okay. But I would have wanted this movie to be live action and animation mixed like Roger Rabbit style.

The tree reminds me of those shaders that make the leaf blocks slightly move around in the wind! So if that's the case, I think this movie will be good!

the thing is, you can think of what a mario movie would be like because everyone knows the story in mario. what's the story in minecraft? and i don't mean 'go and kill the ender dragon' because not everyone wants to do that. there are thousands of ways to play minecraft and that's the idea

i think that's what will give it a unique vibe, remember it won't be as intense as other movies, it's directed by Jared Hess. the thing i'm more worried about is steve's personality, because he doesn't really have one in the game.

in hollywood you fucking apparently can, remember it's the same industry that thought a spiderverse multiplayer online game was less worth making then madame web. also the same industry that annihilated 100 amazing cartoon show concepts yet kept the one that became known as the most "hated" series in IMDB history and possibly animation in general.

Okay but... why? Wouldn't it be better to either go all in on live action, or just animate the movie? Why use live action but still try to replicate the style? It's just very uncanny, and if this approach is consistent, Jack Black is gonna look like a blocky nightmare

When something slightly resembles a human but to a degree doesn't, it can become creepy. This is called the "uncanny valley" in art. It should be fine though as long as Steve doesn't look like a non-cartoon person shaped like a cube. He either has to look like a blocky cartoon, or a non-blocky person. No in between.

These have to be the most realistic texturepack and shader I have ever seen

Now that’s a beauty of nature

Hear me out the best after credits scene would be: after the credits the camera is looking over a plains biome as the camera goes to a somewhat level camera and then everthing starts shaking the all the sudden a obsidian block appears floating and the shaking stops then another block apears right beside it then another and one at a time getting faster it forms a nether portal frame and stops then the portal lights and a certain familiar pig like noise is heard as netherrack starts spreading across the land. All this assuming if they didn't put the nether in the movie.

I am totes excited to see my favorite character in the upcoming live action (how the heck does that work) Minecraft movie... TREE!
