It’s hard for me to post because I don’t have that muscle build up yet, but the sense that people say we just sit there is crazy. This rider and horse work wonderfully together, and the rider has the elegance to look like she is just sitting there, when she’s not.

@@lonnierandoph153 no, the headset is how the horses head is set. The head is not up in the air and it’s not buried in the ground. They are saying the like the placement of the head

I don’t think it’s drugged, usually drugged horses don’t have fluid forward motion like this horse. But I agree!!! That horse is fantastic

Give me reining or even basic gymkhana. Something with a little speed. 🐎

If you don't like it then don't watch it. I personally think the Horse and Rider are very skilled and have amazing equitation. These equitation patterns aren't easy at least the people here actually care about equitation, relaxation, and position unlike gymkhana.

You have to excel at this before you add speed to anything. And this is coming from a Reiner. Basic equitation is the key to everything

Horse is sooooo heavy and downhill. Every bit of expression and freedom totally trained out of him. I know it's what they want. Like watching paint dry for me.

All her gaits are too slow and dragging. There's no connection, no hind support. The horse is as stiff as a board. Every judge in Europe would shudder! If you want to be judged in "Hunt Seat" which means English style then for God's sake, know what it means to ride English style! Hint: Just slapping an English saddle on a horse is not enough.

Well for one were not in Europe, theres different rules and different teachings of riding. Not only that this is a eq round based on the rider and and a hunt undersaddle judging only the different gaits not on the speed of the horse. Also eq is supposed to be slow and steady not speeding around like a jumper.

Hunt seat is traditionally patterned after “riding to hounds”. It’s meant to be a forward moving gait with horses on the bit, not dropping their heads below the horizontal axis. If any AQHA rider were to ride on a hunt the way they ride in the ring they’d be excused for improper execution and dangerous horsemanship. I give this rider credit for quiet and secure legs, but she keeps her hands too low, preventing a straight line from the elbow to the bit. Her upper body is quiet but looks tense, giving a stiff appearance. With a few minor tweaks she would have a rather nice equitation presentation.

Equitation classes have become such a joke today, especially in AQHA.
