A Hilarious Chat with David Letterman on Regis, Kim Kardashian & His Crazy iPhone Case

Комедия

Dave talks about pandemic-era talk shows, the '77 World Series between the Dodgers & Yankees, Tommy Lasorda, going from being extremely busy to not, talking to solicitors on the phone, memories of the great Regis Philbin, his Netflix show “My Next Guest Needs No Introduction,” interviewing Kim Kardashian and Lizzo, and his crazy custom iPhone case.

I am so goddam puzzled about the Kim Kardasian thing. 80s Dave would have hated her. I watched the episode and she did NOT impress. So narcissistic, and how impressed should we be that she spends 20 (!) hours a week studying law??? I read 100 pages of case law a day in law school. She is deadly boring.

Today I want to share my love and gratitude for a person who has had an amazing effect on my life, my art and my personality. A person who has entertained me and lifted my spirits since I was 13-years-old - and showed me what fun being silly can be. His dry humor, his attention to the little things that make us laugh and his overall persona - a lovely mixture of playful mischief, warmth and intelligence - Mr David Letterman

I've been watching Letterman since as long as I can remember. Growing up with my father (not be allowed to watch TV except PBS, and two other shows), and being allowed to watch Dave on Friday Night was something I cherished. When I hit H.S. - my father would record on VHS - the weeks episodes for me. Oh how I miss you Dad... You would just giggle like a schoolgirl at all the technology today. You were my everything.

Funny. I was just talking to my wife about these stupid calls we get early in the morning. My solution was to ask who they are calling for. Then I would say hold on and I'll go get her/him, then leave the phone on the table until they hang up. I figure I can waste his time and spare others from his calls.
