my family's Mexican and really like it with water 😊 I never understood why ppl used milk. Not judging it was just a shocker for me when I found out other ppl used mostly milk for their hot cocoa 😄

My thought is that the chocolate they use is so bad that milk covers the disappointing flavor. Better quality chocolate with water is amazing!

Personally I used water my whole life to other brands of chocolate but I think abuelita taste better with milk and added sugar
Isn't the Nahuatl word for chocolate translated as "bitter water"? I got hooked on the Mexican chocolate a few years ago, it's sort of like going from bland boiled English food to seasoned Italian food :).

Yes it is the perfect Mexican chocolate!
I just made the Ibarra brand with milk.. not much flavor, so I used with my coffee..I’m gonna use use half evaporated next time.
