A guide to lifelong allyship | Catherine Hernandez | TEDxToronto
Do you know what allyship looks like? This increasingly popular buzzword is demystified alongside practical suggestions for social change. Catherine Hernandez is a talented storyteller, author and theatre practitioner and she unpacks what it means to feel allyship in the body, mind, and soul. This talk will share how to make allyship a daily practice. In her debut novel, Scarborough, Catherine tells the incredible story of a neighbourhood that refuses to fall apart in the face of poverty and crime. A writer and theatre practitioner, Catherine’s latest novel, Crosshairs, paints a vision of a dystopian society and explores the universal desire to thrive - all against the backdrop of Toronto. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

You are incredible Catherine Hernandez. I have always admired you and continue to learn from you. It is captivating how you used your expertise of body movements & body awareness toward the allyship creed. I will practice it.

I feel like allyship is just another in the long, sad line of corporate, big business buzzwords that are just BS. All it really is, is just a fancy was of yet again saying "Can't we all just get along?"
"I survived abuse from a theater institution where people didn't like my stories" lmao please listen to yourself. btw, you forgot your shoes.
I don't owe you anything.
