There is something so special about his energy. I've never been so memorized by a single repeating note. Better than the duet version too, in my opinion.

I think both versions are great. In this performance you focus on him singing it all alone and urging the unseen partner to say something. It is sad and desperate. The note that is repeated throughout represents his insistence. In the duet version, the additional harmony and the added emotional quality maybe diminishes the desperation a bit, but it adds the formerly unseen partner and shows that the emotion can go in both directions simultaneously. Both are missing something in the relationship, both wait for the other to say the right thing that fixes it but neither is capable although there is still a common ground and a harmony within.

His voice is clear and crisp and PERFECT. The keyboard is all he needs and he fills the stage. Amazed...

It starts out as an Sad Ballad then at 2:45 he blames her and the Keys tell The Story... "B*tch Say Something, Something... Anything!! We"re breaking up and I don't even want to... Such an emotional song! and you feel every bit of it-Great Song!

This is how this song was meant to be heard. One voice one instrument.

If anyone's lost a loved one recently, cry and let them go to a better place. 👍

I agree, singing the song with Christina, jwas amazing; however, with him alone, you can see and fell the emotion. Also every nuance is illustrative through his voice and actions. Well done my friend. God bless your singing. I wish I could see him in concert. That would make my year.

Douglas Liantonio - The fact that he can emote so effectively without any fancy tricks is what makes him so special.

That emotion...

One of the most beautifully sad songs. Christina Aguilera has a beautiful voice and is good on this song. But this guy, oh my, no one should be within 50 yards of him when he sings this. He deserves the stage all to himself with the power with which he delivers this song. It's incredible. If you aren't moved by this song, you just can't feel. 40-some people have given this a thumbs down. Wow.

I couldn't agree more. I heard the version with Christina first and just sort of shrugged. Then I ran across this one night...man. One of the most gutwrenchingly emotional live performances I have ever seen. The song has MUCH more power without her or anything else cluttering up the song.

Oh.my.god. Ohmygod ohmygod. I can Hear, I can Feel, the intensity and emotion he put into Every word. I couldn't help but cry. I can't even...describe How this song makes me feel. I'll never stop loving this. It only gets better each time!

This song is so very sad.. I'm living this song as i write through the tears roling dwn my cheeks!! There is nothing more sad than giving many yrs of your life to someone that you loved, and they once loved you back dearly, but thru trials and tribulations in Life instead of talking it through and communicating they have shut dwn Phycially, Mentally and Emotionally from you, even the children, and there is Nothing to bring them back!! Nothing you can do but finally decide to give up on them, and give it to God, because it becomes toxic for the both of you and more especially for the children, which makes it twice as hard to walk away!! Not to disrespect Christina Aguilera's contribution to the original song of Great Big World. Fact is, she is a guest singer to add an additional piece to the song, period. The band members enjoy her friendship and quality of emotion to the song and are friends with her in that respect. This song is a legacy of emotion and heartache and stands on it's own. Probably why we relate to the singer/composer/musician so much is due to the fact that he is simply singing from his heart. Which is all that matters. Peace.

This is one of those rare few performances where I can really feel the emotion coming from the singer. And I feel like him singing this song only makes the pain worse rather than soothe it, he did not look alright at the end of the video. :(

I saw these guys open for 2Cellos in Huntsville, AL. I had never heard of them. It was an amazing show. As they were walking off stage they received a standing ovation and certainly deserved it. I honestly thought they were going to cry. The best part of their success is that they honestly seem to be great people. I hope they explode all over America.

I seen an interview with the singer from a great big world and he strait up said he could barely even book a show last year. When Alex and Sierra song that song it was all over everywhere and started getting A LOT of radio play. I loved this song the first time I heard it a long time ago. The reason I said he owes his career to them was obviously something I was joking about because he had a career before x factor last year. Lol. But I feel he should acknowledge them.. that song was viewed and downloaded 10x the amount it was after they song it on x factor.

The song was not even in the ITunes 100 after it aired but got to number 1 directly after Christina Aguilera performed it with them on The Voice, so no dude...

Do me a favor if you think you know sooooo much about obviously your fav band then go watch the interview POST duet with christina. He talks about not being able to book a show to save his life. Going number one on iTunes is a joke. Lol. Bands I have never heard of go number one on iTunes. After Alex and sierra song the duet on x factor that song got 40,000 hits on KZread. Lol. Did you ever hear that song on the radio before December? The answer is no. I listen to the radio everyday before and after work and when I'm cleaning my house and not once did I hear that song on the radio until after Alex and sierra song it on x factor. Its not a big deal I'm just telling you the truth. And if you read my other comment correctly you would know that I was obviously joking when I said he owes his career to them. I just think he should recognize what they did for his career. A lot of people didn't know who A Great Big World is until after they song that song. That's my point. Argue it if you want the statistics don't lie.
