right now the 5600 is $70 on aliexpress, at that price i couldn't see buying anything else considering it's 20-30% faster, also the 5700 xt is only $130 used and is 75% faster, so for $440 you could get significantly more performance

@@illiniwood aliexpress is actually a very reputable source for cpus and sometimes gpus. As long as the seller has decent reviews, and plenty of items sold, and isn't too good to be true, it is a legit cpu. If you see 5 listings where they are all 70-85 dollars then that is the real price. also, currently aliexpress has a summer sale which leads to the lower price. Ebay gpus are typically sold refurbished from sellers with thousands of reviews. If every 5700 xt on ebay is $130, then that isn't a misleading price.

Thanks for yet another good video! Just ordered the Montech case. It will be replacing my Lz7 case and give me room for better cooling for my existing pc. With a bonus of room for more SSDs. I've been happy with my little toaster sized pc for the last 5 years--in fact, I chose the case in part because of your review of it--but the cooling was always a bit of a weak spot. So, this case will let me sort that out and keep my pc for a few more years before I "have" to replace it. The Montech doesn't have ARGB fans but it does let me turn the rgb off so that's good. :)

Got an rx580 8gb on ebay for $40 and a 10 core xeon for $20 running on an lga2011 mobo : ))) The entire system was under $350 because of the deals I hunted down ( not to mention 32 gb of ddr3 for only $38) and it's running the top end of the games we wanted to be playing. Mostly just need it for indie metroidvanias and single player 3rd person titles, my partners been playing kingdoms of amular remastered in 2020 all day and it looks perfect, can't beleive I'm getting this performance for so cheap , can't thank you enough !!!!

GTX16 cards are Turin based so should be fine with DX12, I wonder if it's not playing nice with the DDR5 bandwidth. I'd probably spend an extra few quid and grab the Super or Ti variant, or even buy a 2060S/2070 for more bandwidth and a bit more memory on top.

I would go full AMD build on this. replace the 1660 with an RX 580 or a 5500 XT used and would still get the job done. buying 2nd hand is always the way to go so that way parts can be used instead of going to the landfill and/or creating ewaste. I definitely got my 5500 xt for like $100-150 used and it gets the job done since I paired mine up with a 5600 G. I am happy on how it comes out and I get average 55-60 fps on 1080p games. It's a good deal love the videos man, keep up the good work

This is greatly due to the 1660 super being one of the most used cards currently in the world and because of this it has received more updates and attention when it comes to programing and game development done to optimize the card. Intel on the other hand only holds a small market percentage and is newer to the game industry as a independent gpu manufacture.

with the 1660 Super you don't lose that much without AV1 anyways, since you still has Nvenc, and also QSV and Nvenc are pretty much on pair, another good option is AMD if you only care about gaming and not so much about video encoding, although AMF is still decent enough

After watching I put together an alternative ultra budget PC using 5 5600GT, B550 WiFi, 600w PSU, 32GB of RAM, 512GB m.2, and I stuck with your case choice. Total came out to $398 with all brand new parts, I know it relies on the iGPU but per testing 50fps is achievable on most games 1080p lower settings, and the PSU choice leaves room to grow into a dedicated GPU whenever ready.

Xeon+MB ~150$+case, samsung ddr4 ram and ssd 250$, but there will be no video card, I highly recommend getting a GTX 1060 or something low profile like PNY, and in the end you will need a power supply of about 600 W. $400-$600, but if you compare the price of new handheld consoles like the GPD Win mini and their performance, you'll never own a PC again.
