The tricky part with budget builds is to get the maximum value/$ on the long term, not buy too cheap and have to upgrade earlier or buy too expensive and have more than what you really need but still upgrade at the same time in the future. That is a very tricky balance, it depends on hardwaredevelopment, price-development and game-development.

But with how laptops efficiency chips improving iys hard to make a long term investment. Eventually pc parts will adopt to these technologies and you would feel like the expense coulda been avoided
This man was there when I first started getting into PCs, watching his 25$ builds where he used to run League on there. I still am broke, haven't built my PC yet, but holy hell has he been such a genuine and calm guy, whenever I feel like watching builds. Congratulations on your website dude. PC building is very zen-like. It's relaxing. Some dudes like to field strip rifles. Others like to work on motorcycles. Some guys like to go in their shed and do some woodworking and tinker with what stain to use, or do gardening. I find a great deal of peace and satisfaction in tinkering with computers.

Really great and informative video, man. Clear and concise and nicely shot as well.
A power supply that I like lately is the Thermaltake Smart BM3 650W, the price is higher, $60 to $70, it gives a little more headroom for future upgrades and is a semi-modular design with all black cables. So it looks great and you can cut back on the extra cables getting stuffed somewhere. I do like your build videos, you sound like you enjoy doing them.

@drek9k2
Ай бұрын
@@nikolassovtich1309Yeah like I'd recommend anyone try and get a 700w if they can, IF they was planning to keep it and upgrade the thing in a few years. You pretty much can't do that without either getting a lower end part with low power draw or having to upgrade PSU and let me tell you changing out power supply is one of the biggest hassles, only replacing the motherboard is a bigger pain in the ass and not by much. You typcially want only one PSU in the life of the PC even a very high end one. It's a hassle and money you never needed to spend, so try and make that last. 650w should be plenty for most GPUs, and I doubt anyone is buying a 4090 or 7900XTX if they're starting with a 500$ minmax build. 500w is fine for lots of parts but if it's on Intel you may run into power problems when trying to fit power budget into an i7+new GPU. Ryzen is super good for that reason, it's so power efficient.

The thing to remember with the b350/450 and a320/520 motherboards is that you don't get Gen 4 support,only Gen 3. So either go for the Gen 3 nvme(slighty cheaper also) or get the non-wifi Gigabyte B550M DS3H(which in the UK is the same price as the b450 wifi). Also not having Gen 4 support effects the performance of some low end gpus(rx6400/6500xt/etc).
@esref_52

Ryzen 5 5500 does not support PCIe 4.0, so it does not matter in this case. But for future-proofing, a b550 makes more sense as you might be upgrading your cpu and want to take advantage of its features.

4:20 Case reccomendation: MSI MAG Forge 112R I used it for my first build recently, it's got a mesh front panel, 4 pre-installed ARGB fans, splitters, an RGB hub and looks fairly minimalist to fit into whatever setup you want. I don't know about the USA but in the UK it's about £60 on Amazon.

As somebody who daily drives a Ryzen 5 5500 and an RX 7600, you're the only person I've seen online who doesn't just blatantly disregard and instead push people to go for the higher binned 5600G or 5600. it's a truly great processor for when it just fits your budget. Thanks Oz! You're the best at these videos, and I find that watching your builds is often so relaxing. Edit: also really dig your choice of background music!
@13bmitchell
Ай бұрын
Meh. For a few dollars the 5600 really is worth it. You get slightly better clocks, more L3 cache which can affect gaming performance, and the PCI 4.0 support is good for the Arc and RDNA 2 cards (RX6600).

I like what you've done here. I've been thinking about building a PC for a buddy of mine, and this one looks like it would suit him perfectly.
i built almost this exact computer with a 6600 and different case yesterday for my best friend wow this timing was immaculate on a real note been watching your content for a while and you are by far my favorite tech channel keep up the good stuff!
Hey Oz, thanks so much for these awesome videos. I was wondering if maybe you could do some sort of montage of just the PC building asmr part? Thank you ❤
I got some old office desk terminal/PC husks with power bricks already in them; put the screws, spacers, and studs I wanted to use with the upgraded motherboard, flipped it over and put a tiny dot of epoxy on each stud end, set it in the case and waited for the epoxy to cure enough to pull the screws, removed motherboard and added more epoxy (metal epoxy, like JB Weld [not an affiliate] is what to use), let it cure, rebuilt system. Very quiet, very cheap, tiny footprint, fun to build and not too hard - since every motherboard comes with the back metal plate to pop in, a dremel type tool to cut out the opening after tracing the plate is also quick (choose the right dremel blade, or if you have a keyhole/scroll saw that also works easy) and everything fits.
I've never thought that building a pc video can be so relaxing, thank for your work
Your channel is severely underrated, keep up the amazing builds!
WOW! I've seen many builds from cheap to expensive but for some reason this build is just beautiful and I need to duplicate your exact build.
