FYI (and I am sure someone else probably mentioned this already), the top loader NES originally came with dogbone controllers that look more like SNES controllers and are significantly less common than the original NES controllers you received with your unit. As a collector, I'd be furious if I ordered a top loader and did not get the top loaded controllers with it.

  • @JoshBattin

On a more realistic note, being cautious vs being furious would be most collectors if they were looking for a specific thing. For instance, calling someone at luckie to confirm that the top-loader would come with the dogbone controllers. You could then move in to furious territory if they confirmed then didn't deliver.

Over the past couple of months, I've amassed a small collection of 70 or so NES games from various sources: Gamestop, Lukie Games, eStarland and various eBay sellers. 2 of the 4 I got from Lukie Games were the only 2 of the entire 70 that gave me so many problems (on both my top loader NES and front-loader with a brand new 72-pin) that I nearly gave up on them before finally getting them to work after like a dozen re-inserts and multiple cleanings. Gamestop has been surprisingly solid when a game you're looking for is actually in-stock, and eStarland was by far the most reliable. That's my story.

on the Xbox 360, if you want to help prevent the "red ring" you should RE-PASTE the CPU and also do the "12 volt mod" for the fans. 5v was just to keep them quiet but the really need 12v to keep the system cool even though it is definitely noisier.

Austin, I bet these clowns at Lukie got systems from the remants of hurricanes, floods, and tropical storms from the Miami area and claim they cleaned them. For $190, I would have flew to Miami, went to Lukie and throw the systems right back at them. That PS3 was pathetic for the price and dont get me started in the Nintendo-less logo DS that was 3x the price of a perfectly fine system. The hell were they thinking!

They claim that their consoles are "refurbished" but when I ordered 2 Nintendo 3DS consoles, they had many scratches on the shell and one had finger grease all around the AB XY buttons. But then again one of them came pre-modded so at least I didn't have to do it myself. Also, don't buy retron gaming consoles online unless it's on ebay. Do garage sales if you must. I found a Wii with everything (console + stand, sensor, 2 controllers, a few games and extras) for only 90$ and an original xbox with 2 controllers and games for 80$

I think we just live in an age of People wanting to complain all the time. It’s your money why would you instantly buy something you want if it’s high priced do some searching and find one at a good price that’s what I do with lukie games if they have a reasonable price on a game then I’ll grab it if not then I won’t I go elsewhere for a better deal. And their customer service is way better than dk oldies. Dk oldies was rude when asking them questions.
