A potential Gravity Falls revival is currently in the early stages of conversation between Disney TV executives and Alex Hirsch. With The Book of Bill hitting shelves soon, Disney will also see how popular the franchise still is today. What do you hope to see from a future Gravity Falls project? Please take the whole "season 3" rumors with a grain of salt everyone. The article isnt even a very reliable source of information and no one even asked Alex Hirsch if he's making a season 3. If there was gonna be a season 3 he would tell us. Until then don't get your hopes up.

Alex Hirsch did say years ago that he wanted a Grunkle Stan and Ford spin-off, but Disney said no because they wanted more Dipper and Mabel, which Alex didn't want. Maybe they've come to a compromise and we'll get that Stan and Ford spin-off?

@arack4647 I don't care if the story is not as long as other shows. It ended on its own terms with what the creator intended. Plus, a good bunch of episodes and long hiatuses made Gravity Falls feel long enough. When are people going to let this show rest in peace? It doesn't need to be any longer, and the big story and any major ideas have already been done in it.

There is no season 3! Alex would be one of the first to tell us if he was making a season 3 and he hasnt said anything! Also, Alex has a deal with netflix right now and he literally cant make a season 3 until the deal expires.

@@dylansharp8471 On Twitter, the president of Nintendo of Korea (I think, don't remember exactly which country) said that there would be an announcement for the Switch's successor by the end of this fiscal year, which is March 2025. They also said that the upcoming June direct would not have any mention of the next console.

Gravity Falls does not need a revival, it ended on an awesome note. A revival would destroy the ending of its finale. Though a spin-off can happen.

Exactly! The creator wanted Weirdmaggedon and how it ended. It's better to respect his wishes and intentions and let the series be as it is in its completed form. It's because of this completeness and how singular the story of Gravity Falls is that even the idea of a spin-off is very iffy for me.

On one hand the fact that they are potentially open to coming back is great. While on the other, you don’t want the core of the original show ruined with a bad reboot or spin off that won’t capture the greatness of the original series. It’s definitely a double edged sword.

Dont worry there is no season 3 they're most likely only working on some shorts. Alex hasnt said anything and unless he does trust no one! He's working with netflix right now, anyway. He's not working on season 3 the article and videos are very misleading.

I hope with a new summer we see some of what was definitely the best ship in Gravity Falls, Dipper and Pacifica. That had great potential but was only used in one episode.

IF Alex Hirsch were to allow a continuation of Gravity Falls, Disney NEEDS to give him and his team full creative control with minimal meddling. They have proved capable of letting creative teams shine like the XMEN 97 team and that show is a major audience and critical success. If Disney wants this to succeed, they need to give that same freedom to Alex as there are many notorious examples of their meddling with the original show. That aside, the original show was iconic and for the most part, pretty darn amazing so a continuation will be very welcome.... just accepted cautiously....
That “See you next summer” may mean something after all :)

No we dont! Dont you guys see? We have the power to create whatever comes next for these characters! Unlimited fanfics, unlimited stories, our imaginations are the only limit! This is part of why the fandom is so alive. Would you rather have a season 3, (which ruins the message of the show that childhood is limited and to cherish it while it lasts,) or would you rather have a dead fandom?

One thing I would LOVE to see is storytelling taking place in the 30 years Stanford was gone. We get some hints to what he was up to in Journal 3, but a series following him on his journeys through other dimensions could have a lot of potential: not only for plenty of new stories, but also to help give more context to the stories we already have or to reconceptualize Ford and Bill’s relationship.

@@spiritsofwolves Fair enough, but I had a GF phase back then, so I guess it could be either that or just nostalgia grabbing at me. Also, I’m aware that they *might,* and that it doesn’t mean that they *would.* I know the difference.
I am so open to this. Yes. The ending was so beautiful and heartwarming and easily makes you cry. That’d all go away. But if they can just make it as perfect as it currently is, it would be so good. Even a feature film would be great.

This video is misleading, there is not a season 3 being made! If there was, Alex would say so on his twitter, but he hasnt said anything! + Alex is working with netflix right now. But don't feel bad, because you can create your own season 3 in your imagination! You get to decide what happens to the characters after the show ends and no one can tell you you're wrong because nothing is canon!

@@justanaviationguy11 Alex is still working with Netflix on a unreleased show i doubt he's gonna drop everything to work on a season 3 of gravity falls, that ended in 2016 btw. which the article vailskibum got this information from says it ended in 2014.. along with other inaccuracies. While i guess there is a possibility of a season 3 happening it's probably not gonna be soon and i wont trust anything anyone says until Alex tells us, himself.

It's not happening!! Put down the confetti and turn off the alarms! there is no season 3! Sorry to disappoint, but Alex hasnt said anything about this and the disney executive in the article didnt even say there would be a season 3! All they said was that they were in conversations with Alex and to "never say never." Alex has a deal with netflix right now, so he cant even make a season 3 of Gravity Falls! But there might be some new shorts coming and of course, the book of bill!
I could see something along the lines of the Stans pursuing different relics, treasures, and anomalous items. The build up being Bill in the back of Stan's mind, pushing to get certain artifacts to summon him again. The Pines would then have to face off to finish Bill for good. Oh please, If Alex wanted a season 3, he'd get it. He has specifically not wanted a season 3 of the show because the story ended.
If I had a nickle every time Dippers voice actor was cast to play fraternal twin with a twin sister, id have 3 nickles, which isn't much but its weird it happened thrice!

Maybe a sequel series.
I don’t think a revival for this is necessary, Gravity Falls ended the best way in the most heartbreaking way and it doesn’t need a revival for a sequel series or spin-off and definitely not a reboot needed

@@spiritsofwolves That would be fine by me if they decided to make new shorts for the series. I thought that the shorts they did for Gravity Falls in 2013-2014 were pretty good.
And to think I LITERALLY just watched weirdmageddon 3 and a couple retrospectives of this show…did I subconsciously will it into existence 😳

It’s not gonna get ruined if something comes out. There’s already thousands of books with other stories and I have never heard of anybody say those ruin the show. If a spinoff or new season ends up bad then just ignore it. If it ends up good then there we go.

The fandom definitely isnt dead! Not like some OTHER fandoms. The Book of Bill also really helped revive the fandom a bit. Btw there is not a season 3. Remember, trust no one except for Alex Hirsch himself!

What if it's about Bill coming back and the twins having to finish him off, once and for all? Theories (Mainly Matpat's) has revealed that Bill may still be alive, and plus, it's kindaaa hard to kill off an immortal being. I think we've all seen the theory by Matpat years ago, but I'll recap kind of. If Stan came back, Bill probably did as well.
I would love to see more Gravity Falls content. In fact, I might consider buying this 'Book of Bill' just to see all the references.
