When word came out that James Horner had died in that small plane crash, the classical music station I listened to stopped their programming to announce his passing....they loved and honored his work that much. Horner is, to this day, one of my most beloved film composers, one of the very last of the greats....losing him was a monumental thing. It hurt, and it hurt deeply. But we still have his gorgeous music. It takes a special, very rare talent to compose great symphonic film music, and Mr Horner had that. Nobody writes film music like that any more. I don't think they can. But I have his work in my collection, with the other greats. God rest you for the beauty you created, dear Mr James Horner. I have never forgotten you. And I never will. ❤

Scotland is not free. Scotland lost to England in The Battle of Pinkie Cleugh on September 10th, 1547. Scotland is the most northern part of The United Kingdom. You may as well call England "Englandistan." It doesn't appear to me that Scotland is incentivized enough to attempt to break free from the UK since their disastrous loss at Pinkie Cleugh.

This scene was one of the red letter moments from my youth where the pivotal role of film scoring registered so profoundly with me. In a medium where music so often take a back seat to visuals and dialog, it's exceptionally rare for a score to not only step up and take center stage, but to completely dominate a scene by reaching through the screen to tear the heart from your chest and stomp it into the ground without so much as a spoken word. The music did all the talking. Most films of this (or any) era rarely accomplish such a thing. But James Horner did. In a world of incredible film composers, he stood apart, and will be forever missed. 💔

My favorite movie soundtrack! I was thinking of James.About the time i had a great talk with him about music. It was in Tuscan Az. I bumped into him at a hotel. At the Gem - Mineral show. Yes! He was a big time mineral collector. What a special great person! Few months later. I was sittting in a movie theater watching Braveheart. I flipped out over the movie. Biggest fan! Me! When the credits came up on the screen. I was reading who did the sound track. " James Horner" I almost went threw the roof! Had no idea he wrote the soundtrack. R.I.P. James. I honor and thank you for the time i had with you!

Es una escena con una enorme carga narrativa, efectivamente para ese niño ese momento fue como perder todo comp si nada tuviese sentido, y el hecho de que alguien acaricie tu corazón en ese momento es algo tan épico tan necesario, que peliculaza
