Outstanding discussion. Congratulations to these two good men for working hard and making their entrepreneurial dreams come true. I now have a goal to one day soon, own a pair of their beautiful shoes.

A big part of the allure of Savile Row is the heritage and history, though it is always nice to see someone back themselves because they have the conviction that they can bring something new and contribute value. There have been some long term fixtures on the Row that have had to pack up and it’s always a pity but at the same time, you root for the newbies. Bold move from these 2 to go on the Row and not on Jermyn Street. Their shoes are exceptional, I hope they succeed.

Such nice gentleman. I loved meeting Tony when I dropped by. Then ordered some MTO shoes at the Las Vegas Trunk show. I can’t wait to wear them. Lovely interview.

Thank you, Tom, for slowing the answers from the two G&G partners in order to dig deeper on technical aspects. Sometimes shorthand terminology loses ignoramuses like me, so one much appreciated the unravelling of a seemingly simple subject as shoe making. I shall never again look at shoes in the same light ~ Nick.

Although a regular customer of G & G (I’ve visited the factory too) I wasn’t aware of the meaning of some of those shoemaking terms until this excellent video. One constructive point - it would be helpful if the camera could zoom in on details when discussed. It was, for example, not easy to see the way the welt fits to the inner sole as the camera shot was effectively fixed in place the whole time.

I know that I say this every time, but it was another excellent, and very informative video. Brilliant interview with G&G. A bonus was the shoe shine, and seeing that the wax that I use, Saphir was mentioned, I also use their shoe cream. I had a chuckle when I saw that the shoe shine chap had tramlines in his trousers. I had my usual glass or 2 of 10 year old tawny whilst I was watching. Laughed at the Tom 'One Take' Chamberlin bit, although I did miss the out takes. I'm guessing that Tom's suit was the Brioni one featured in the latest issue of The Rake?

Fantastic, the correct term for the rasp that is used on 'good stuff' is "hand stitched rasp".. not "hand pricked". Fantastic video .... oh!, the wax used on the cord used on welting and attaching soles is "hand wax" or "coad" .... it's a blend of bee's wax, tallow and pine rosin.

Exceptional. It’s so heartening to see British traditional craftsmanship, creativity, entrepreneurship and sartorial elegance shine…and I say this as an Irishman. 😂 Great work gents. Also, an utter chef’s kiss to the gent at the end. Making a craft like that into an art form is the highest form of civilisation as far as I’m concerned. Inspiring. ❤

Are they really the first bespoke shoe shop on Saville Row? I remember seeing Maxwell in a basement in the 1990`s...

Such delight I took from this engaging interaction by not only the finest shoemakers in the world but with the superb shoeshine at the end of the video. Whilst sitting back with my Cohiba I was intrigued on all aspects of this video. Mr Chamberlin can anybody pop in to see the shoeshine gent or is this only for Gaziano Girling? Could this be made clear.

He doesn’t need to, particularly as he’s wearing a sports jacket rather than a suit. Either or!
