This little book is amazing. I also wish I had read it when I was young, before college. Along with this book, in the development of an intellectual life, I recommend Jean Guitton - The Intellectual Work; Louis Riboulet - Councils about the Intellectual Work; Jules Payot - The Education of Will; and also The Intellectual Work and The Will; and the book that comes before all these, by Alphonse Gratry - Councils to the Education of the Spirit. After reading this once I was blown away and likewise “sing its praises”. You do a great job on paraphrasing the message that our Catholic brother is penning for us to enjoy as we enjoy, worship, and serve Christ in more fullness!

My favorite book ever!

I’ve just read it and for sure it’s a breaking point in life.

Life changing book indeed. I was curious to note that the author gives advice on what seems like a proto “Zettelkasten” method of note taking decades before Nicholas Lumen creates it and even more decades before it becomes popularized on KZread self help content creators further popularize it.
