My "Unpublished" First Video | The Intellectual Life by A.G. Sertillanges | PT 1

This video is my first video I ever made, left "unlisted" until now, since it talked about my work environment. It contains a little rambling about science in grad school and a little quoting of an excellent book on how to live a meaningful, productive, and intellectual life. Also, Bob and Ciup.

Yes. Thank you for sharing those quotes. You’ve landed in a more spacious place. Your comments have gotten me thinking about the difference between isolating oneself purposefully to reduce noise and distractions (rarely productive for me) versus entering into a surrendered stillness, in the midst of right where you happen find yourself, and suddenly listening and hearing something fresh. In that place we may come synthesize unconsciously … leading to discovery. Writing haiku is like that for me. I cannot force haiku. Rather it flows from an unexpected moment of stillness - where I’m suddenly noticing what was previously unnoticeable. It’s very cool, how God made us.

A good point! While I like escaping distractions, it's often in the menial work of the day-doing the dishes, taking care of the garden, etc.-that my best thoughts occur. (That's if I can refrain from distracting myself with a podcast or show. 😬) But I suppose that's where the idea of "shower thoughts" comes in!
