OMG the way Grim reacted when the glasses slid down his face, it was so cute, almost human-like. Grim is the best.

Length of video isn’t as important as content. The content today was full and left me wanting more. Which is the goal. Excellent job giving glimpses into life in Longyearben and Svalbard! It’s fascinating to me that babies nap outside…and that’s normal for your part of the world! I’m sure there are other things. Your channel is the best and I’m thankful I stumbled across it. You do a great job! It’s good to see more of Christoffer, too.

"Gjetost" is what we called brown cheese when I stayed with relatives in Trondheim, Norway. I was not a fan of it on its own, as I just don't prefer goat cheese or milk. However, I would definitely eat the heart shaped Scandinavian waffles with Ski Queen, sour cream, and jam! I would eat everything you tasted, and might pick up some Ski Queen in Minneapolis, next time my relatives ask me to bring them some specialty Norske meat. (I was eating pickled herring with crackers and Lingonberries in yogurt just today!)

That was fun. Christoffer is getting so much more comfortable in front now, such a co-host 😊 I'm from Calgary, Canada, so it won't be long until I'm seeing the same weather ❤ you look out the window, I go to Banff, check it out, I'm sure you would love the views, and know why I love your home too. I'm so glad i found this channel. I live in southern Italy, where the weather is completely different, rarely too cold and very often too hot. It snows maybe once every 10 or 15 years and it barely even sticks. I enjoy Svalbard crispiness vicariously through your videos. I just LOVE them, and I can't wait for polar night to start! Please make LOTS of polar night videos!

Cecilia thank you for helping me each Fall and Winter see the dark days with so much more wonder and comfort. Living in Northern Illinois we are entering shorter days and frost at night. I have decorated my home with more candles and string lights because of you! ❤

Hi Cecilia, I just came across your channel.and am greatly enjoying it. I'd hoped to do a Northern Lights trip 10 years ago but was prevented by urgent back surgery. Svalbard was not on the itinerary as the trip was in December. I didn't realise that it would have been polar night so all dark. The colours of your vids are amazing. Thanks for sharing your life with Christoffer & Grim with us. I don't know whether I'll ever make it to Norway now due to mobility issues so this is great. Thanks for mentioning the brown goats cheese. I was introduced to it as a child in Singapore by Norwegian neighbours and just loved it. We're about to go into a long hot Aussie summer here while you're wearing your winter woolies etc.

Food Festival looked great and not expensive at all given the prices of food these days. Look forward to seeing more town activities. Have a great weeks!

Loved the concept of small portions with small prices. I've seen festivals where you make a blind choice on one vendor.

One of the definitions of the word stark is barren and desolate so....spot on Cecelia.

So nice to see what you were doing on Friday afternoon in Longyearbyen - and yes, how cute was Grimm with his glasses on!!! I can sense your excitement at moving into the winter season Cecilia and I completely get that! Although not such a dramatic change in the UK - we are now moving into autumn so getting the jumpers ready and stockpiling the firewood!

I bought your cookbook last week and everything looks so unique and yummy. I still have to make a recipe. Christoffer should have his own food stall with all his amazing recipes 🤩

It' so interesting to see the word "smak" in a different language, because in polish it also means taste!

In Dutch "smak" describes a sound you make with your lips and "smakken" (which is the verb of "smak") means clapping the lips or tongue when eating and drinking!

Whenever I am watching your videos,this is what you call "Bring your own sunshine wherever you".I wanna experience life there in Svalbard but I am not sure how long could I live there.I

It's not gloomy! Its simply divine! Here in Australia, we are 1 month into spring, so lots of windy days that are cool but the sun sure is hot when the wind isn't around. Thanks for the tip on the cheapest time of year to come to Svalbard. It's definitely on my bucketlist.

Visiting Svalbard is definitely a must for me. This time last year, I was on a ship touring the Antarctic and landed in Ushuaia, the southernmost city in the world. I'm eager to see Longyearbyen so that I can add the northernmost city in the world to my bucket list.

What a beautiful peek into Svalbard living. Plus, vegan options, like the raw cake, I could totally visit one day. ❄️⚡️

The drone footage of the mountains with the buildings below looks like a negative image. The red roof of one building helps to orient that it isn't. I think I have been looking at too many negatives lately to notice this. Beautiful as always.

Enjoyed this video. Cecilia you were in rare form in this video, lol but loved it. You show just how much you love your village when most would shy from it or possibly be less enthusiastic due to the polar nights and no sunshine. I would never think about going to a place where there is this much snow. However, you just changed my mind. The tranquility of Svalbard seems so relaxing. Thank you so much for sharing your life with us. Maybe someday my husband and I will visit with our husky in your area.

​@tshelby5212 I live in the twin cities metro, and I can assure you it gets subzero about a month out of the year. A year or two ago, it was -30 Fahrenheit with a wind chill of -60 for a few days.

I have visited Svalbard twice for photography trips. I was absolutely enchanted by the village and atmosphere. I hung out in a cafe/ yarn shop, a coffee shop, and loved the general store, mall area. Everyone was welcoming and kind. Watching your videos makes me want to return for a longer stay. I love your posts!
