tbh it's the most unfunny part of this amazing series, they should've let Bug talk to himself without anyone hearing him, maybe saw him, but not heard them

I'm really glad Damien is being so forgiving/loosey-goosey with the rules. It suits the players and makes the roleplay happen without dragging it down with rules. :)

It's perfect for DnD beginners. I don't particularly like watching the gameplays where there's too much technical stuff. I like DnD, but I'm not so hardcore into it that the rules or rolling even matter to me. Like the mention of 30 different die just annoys me lol

I’m excited to see Amanda’s character develop as she gets more comfortable with the game. Her big personality seems to metagame a bit much at the moment and that’s a little chaotic but I like the general balance the players all try to find

I love the running gag of Angela talking to herself and Amanda every time going "we can still hear you by the way".

It’s interesting to see everyone’s approach to the game, because they’re all different imo. Angela playing as an “actor” focusing more on the role playing. Shayne playing as the “comic relief” throwing in one liners and lightening up tense moments with a bit. Chanse playing as a “player” focusing more on the game play like solving riddles and hitting objectives. Amanda is sort of the “wild card” trying to do a little of everything, swinging for the fences and mostly striking out. That being said I enjoy all their characters and the overall directions they’ve chosen. They seem to have put a little of themself in each of their characters which always makes for more organic game play. Damien is a natural DM and I’m very much looking forward to all future episodes.

I feel Shayne's pain, I too am cursed when it comes to dice rolls

Same here I’m currently DMing a curse of strahd revamped campaign and I had a session where during combat one of my players rolled 3 Nat 1 in a row and we had to stop the session so I could call one of our players who wasn’t at the session to give the other player a pep talk

i love how most all of Shaynes' characters are always just different brands of lovable idiots lol.

I love how Bug is just a vessel for all of Angela's insecurities. Maybe it's just me but I feel like that chat with Gunthar at 59:30 really hits her on an emotional level. God I love DnD

Damien’s storytelling abilities never cease to amaze me!

I love this family so much 🥹Dolores being that cheesy single mother trying her best to be a loving mother, Koda being the oldest child that tries to keep everyone organized, Bug is the middle child with some self esteem issues, and fernie being the youngest child that has no filter on what they say. Also, I’m gonna miss tungo and rumpum 😭🕊️

I love how when Bug speaks Koda’s like ugh whatever, but if Fernie’s like “look a mud pie” he’s like good job buddy. I find it funny😂

Fernie is so blunt in every situation it cracks me up

It's surprising for me that Bug is the one who's most aware of the situation, the most emphatic one, and the one who can read the room the best. Koda only cares about himself and the other two are also not as good as Bug. Sadly, all of that is hidden behind Bug's unconfidence.

I agree! Except about Koda being selfish and only thinking of himself. I don't think he and done anything to deserve that describer. He's stoic, certainly. But I think we've seen plenty of occasions where he has show empathy and discomfort over other peoples sadness or problems. I just don't think he is very good at expressing himself the way that Bug and Delores are. A bottle-it-all- up kind of guy. And i thinks its normal for anyone to express frustration when things go wrong or people aren't listening. I think Bug has a lot of confidence to learn but that will come with experience!

Monk/Echo knight with Tabaxi is pretty spicy, took mobile and sentinel feat as well. 60ft base movement 😂 double with feline agility, then hit 6 times 2 attack>bonus flurry of blows>action surge>attack>unleash incarnation I think that was at level 11? Not to mention moving your echo is a free action and you can switch places with it 😂 I friggen love Tabaxi

3:10 Rewatching this episode after the most recent one (5) and I'm losing my mind that "Let's be honest, this isn't the first time you've looked through smoke, Dolores" was AMAZING foreshadowing

Damien's "you're not in trouble" portion was actually so healing to hear

I still can't believe this is Damien's first time being a DM. I've literally never been so captivated and invested in a world like I have for this one. The character work amongst the cast, and especially for all of Damien's NPC's, is off the charts. I also love how accommodating he's being with the cast's improvised moments; I think it makes the experience as a player & viewer so much richer. I hope I get to play under such an incredible DM one day...

This is so funny, everyone's characters just keep getting better. Chanse's delicate bite of imaginary pie killed me.

damien is one of those people who completely disappears into a character- this series has been so fun to watch!! before this i feel like tntl was the main place to see this, and it was so extreme and goofy. i LOVE seeing this side of damien so much

Can I just give props to Damien and everyone involved on how much work they clearly put into this campaign. I look forward to these videos every time they release. The characters are so much fun. This dnd series is giving me life. I am so happy this series is doing great. Everyone seems to be having a great time and that is the most important thing. Also 1hr long! Yes! I love this! Also, please make this a weekly series.

As someone who has never played D&D and never watched anyone play, this has become my new favorite series. The acting and improv skills shine for all of you!

Bug's anxiety and insecurity is way real, I love it. Definitely how I feel when working with people more experienced. We all need a Gunthar in our lives. Anyways keep up the awesome work this series is wicked!

Damien’s world-building and improvisational skills are so good

Damein did such a good job relying the story through all the diff characters and top tier voice acting

I think this should be released as a "How to introduce TTRPGs to new players." Damien is bringing a quality blend of dice rolling, rules following, rule-of-cool, theater of the mind, RP-ing and keeps the fun moving in a way that is absolutely one of the best versions of a new group I have ever witnessed! For reference, I have played TTRPGs since 1991.

First time ever watching D&D and I really like Damien’s story telling. Fernie is the best!

Angela saying "one cup" and then quietly laughing to herself wins the episode for me :D

I thought for SURE Bug was done for and I'm so glad he lives another day. Also BugxFernie is a GREAT duo and we should have more. Editing to add, upon second rewatch: I absolutely love how you all (Damien included) are EMBODYING your characters so well. Like, Angela is reacting to everyone around as Bug, not just saying what Bug is doing, and so on. I think in this episode we also see some of Chanse's (seeming, because I obviously don't know y'all IRL lmao) niceness leek into Koda. I just think it's interesting to see when your real selves creep in sometimes!

i want there to be a conversation way down the line where Fernie says something really deep and profound to Bug about his self esteem ONCE and it’s the smartest thing Fernie ever says and then it never happens again

The sound editing here is Next Level! Just the littlest touches of sound effects and music REALLY add so much! My favorite in this episode was the guitar music as the carriage of the bully/successful heroes drove away- perfection! Also the little bell ringing as they walked into the "gas station". Amazing job, Sound Editors!!! 💖

I love how looking back there is so many hints for Dolores's backstory: she says she only knows how to be a mother, the way she uses the glass of milk weirdly and Damien mentioning how she has seen through smoke before.
