I never noticed the white dress being a white version of the dinner dress. I wish they would have shown it more. Rose's entire wardrobe in this movie was really on point. Most of the designs were taken from vintage patterns and magazines. The only problem was she wouldn't have so much makeup on.

yup, its the Libra Pluto generation or Gen X arriving to the late 90s, or pluto in sagittarius, their time to shine, its the equivalent of millennials in the early 2010's, but the difference is us millennials are the pluto in scorpio generation, we were not the epitome of beauty exactly, the only ones that can resemble beauty are the Libra generation (1972-1983), and the taurus generation from the mid 1800s, or 2090's/2100's this next time

It's true... Kate was absolutely stunning in this movie... I always loved the reveal, obscuring her with the hat really adds to the effect, when you finally see her lovely face.

All the people behind the scenes that brought 1912 to the screen did a fantastic job.

You know, I’ve seen this movie many times, and I never noticed that she took her engagement ring off! Or that the end dress was a duplicate style to the group dinner dress. No wonder Deborah Scott won an Academy Award for the costume design. My fav is probably the beginning dress.

@@CulturedElegance I gotta admit that Rose's final dress on the Titanic, before and during the sinking, is stunning in a unique and different way too. In comparison to the other ones she wore. It might be the charisma, character and strength that made her more beautiful and radiant after the "portrait" scene, but the Siffon is great nonetheless. It really gave her something magical, including when wearing her hair down. You could see she was a different person than before.

The greatest movie entrance in history in my opinion. Nothing can top that gorgeous pin-stripe suit and huge hat.

I was lucky enough to see a lot of Titanic costumes at an exhibition in the Biltmore estate. I can’t believe we only see that white dress at the end for such a short moment of screen time. In real life that dress is so beautiful, the way how it glitters in the layers cascade down. All of the people in our tour group let out an audible gasp when we turned the corner and saw it. I love all the costumes in this movie, but my favorite Rose dress is what people call her “water dress,” the flow is chiffon ombre dress she wears during the sinking. Seeing it in person, it leaves a lot to be desired because of how much it went through during filming. All of the costumes in this movie are so good and they were made so well. Truly, if you have a chance to see them you definitely should!

My favorite day dress must be the blue velvet and silk tea gown. She looked perfectly from head to toe in this blue & yellow combo that matched flawlessly her hair color and probably unintentional, blended beautifully with the sunset for the famous flying scene. Also, when she steps onto the rail, you can see her shoes which are very elegant and match her entire look beautifully.

The 1910's is one of my favorite decades for women's fashions. There are a few that I really loved in "Titanic". The suit of cream and purple was perfection. I yellow day dress with the flower embellishments was, as you said, very whimsical. The black lace over the pink evening dress was my favorite. The black and gold kimono was just stunning. I loved the hair styles during the evening scene when Rose introduced Jack to the Astor's. Mrs. Astor also had the same style with the ribbon woven through her hair. They were reminiscent of Grecian and Regency styles. I love the Regency period as well.

A much deserved Oscar for the costume designer. Just stunning, I'd love to see all these gowns up close!

Kate Winslet was stunning in Titanic & she was beautiful with red hair. I have 3 collectible dolls of her from this movie. The porcelain one wearing the blue velvet outfit that she wears on the bow when she says she is flying & 2 vinyl ones wearing the white pinned stripe & the other the red beaded dress. I also love the yellow/white outfit she wears when she is walking around the deck with Jack. The whole movie was glorious & the costuming also just outstanding. She'll always be remembered for playing Rose.🌹🚢

My favourite day dress is that lovely flowing tea one she wears during the sinking. It’s so simple yet elegant and is more flowing, symbolizing how Jack has freed her from being trapped. Plus it’s just so pretty! Frankly I never cared for the dinner gowns but I do enjoy the one Rose wears in the afterlife. It’s like a bridal gown.

I actually loved everything she wore -- the early 1910s is probably my favorite periods of modern fashion history. I really loved the red evening dress she wore when she meets Jack.

My favorite is hands down the first outfit when she arrives to the ship. It’s stunning with that awesome hat. Love this movie just to see that part. When she looks up and shows her face. 😊simply elegant and gorgeous

My all-time favorite dinner dress is the red/black dinner dress! Just gorgeous! My all time favorite day dress is the pastel dress with lace accents, and her pink wool coat! LOVE!

To this day, the scene of Rose stepping out of the car in her purple & white ensemble is a show stopper for me. Love that outfit.

My favorite Rose's dresses are layered silk chiffon ombre dress with lace accents and Heaven white silk and white sequin dress.

I love that how Jack says “ You look nice “ after she put on the silk chiffon dress

Gosh, I wish we dress with this type of elegance now.

My favourite is the opening dress with that hat...just stunning!!! 👌🥰 As a side note, I wish Kate Winslet stayed a redhead or would do more roles as one. The colour suits her features so well, much better than her go-to lighter blonde. Even her natural very dark blonde would work more harmoniously with her features. Oh well, here's to hoping!!! 🤞☺

GEEK HEAVEN! I swear that a huge reason I watch Titanic is because of Rose's dresses! I loved the blue velvet and silk tea gown, whch fit so well with the growing dusk as Titanic sailed on to its doom. I also really wish that the yellow silk and black velvet dress with orange accents had been shown more. Thanks for making this video!

When the movie came out I was 11 and I wanted her wardrobe so much, my favourite dress was the final dress the night of the sinking.

Every piece in this is so incredible. My favorite is probably the introductory walking suit, but that kimono is stunning. The beadwork and the ombre details. So beautiful. I wish we'd gotten to see the headband like in the sketch.

I do have an absolute favorite. When the artist Jack is suddenly spellbound was just an astonishing moment, and I thought immediately of painters like Van Gogh... it was the orange sash on the luncheon dress!! Second favorite is absolutely the red silk with black beading.

I like the dress she is wearing when Jack stops her from jumping.

My favorite has always been the red evening gown with the black bead overlay.

I still love the navy blue one with that beige shawl and the green butterfly accessory on her hair.

I wished that they showed the full look of her Final Crystal White Ballgown at the end of the film. Rose in that dress was really stunning and graceful, but also pure like a Goddess of Sky.

I agree with you, I really like the green and lace dress worn during the lunch scene, both the finished version and the original design. It’s a pity the finished hat didn’t turn out as well as intended and ended up not being used. If I had the money, I’d want a version of that dress, complete with a matching hat.

I think in the special features, James Cameron said he really didn’t like the hat and thought it looked silly. He got scolded by the etiquette coach for having her walk outside without a hat on lol

I love the black and red one when she was on the back of the ship

It's a very subtle detail but at 2:30 l, notice how Rose is draped in the light making her look angelic and ethereal and she appears to be casting her light on Caledon. Notice how his face is not in the light though but they are sitting at the same height, the light is not at the same angle making it seem that she is casting her light on him but not on his face making him appear more sinister.

Rose's afternoon suit I believe also consisted of a _"hobble skirt"_ which was a narrow skirt that impaired a woman's stride. (A fad said to be of Paul Poiret's in fact whose fame waned at the arrival of Coco Chanel!)) Beautiful presentation, elegant! 🎩

I agree. Plus; corsets are rightly called "cloth prisons." Kate Winslet hated the corset she wore in "Titanic" because she could barely breathe. Though my personal favorite of all her outfits was the pinstripe suit. It looks like it could be worn by a businesswoman in this day and age.

My fave is the red dress with the beads.

My mom handmade the first evening gown for my prom back in 2003 😊 she switched it from dark to light. I absolutely loved it and still have it today ❤

As far as I know Kate Winslet didn't get to keep any of her costumes from "Titanic." My personal favorite is the dress she wore when she was about to jump off the stern of the ship. Kate explained in a special to commemorate the twenty-fifth anniversary of the film that she kept crushing the beads when she was running and accidentally stepped on them.

My favorite was the first one, the cream and purple suit, which was really cute.

I’m obsessed with them all and have reproductions of them and/or materials to make them. The chartreuse tea gown was the first one I did, followed by the flying dress. Will wear the tiered dinner gown to an event next month.

I'm really picky, so I think I would make adjustments to many of her day dresses, but there are elements in each I really like. Maybe the closest least adjustments would be the blue one, but I still would want to say the gold or pinstripe are my favorite despite needing changes. I really love the hat with the pinstripe--the asymmetry and camera angle reveal has a lot to do with that. The wedding dress is definitely my favorite dinner gown, I suppose followed by the pink and black, then the black and red--since I would want to remove the circular beading on the bottom. I wish we got to see more of the white nightgown.

I was a little kid (around 5 or 6) at the time the movie came out and my two sisters were in high school at the time... my oldest sis was in love w/ the movie and, when it was time for senior prom the following spring, she asked my mom to replicate the pink/black dinner dress as her prom dress! I still remember watching my mom do all the beading on the dress by hand and the dress looked fantastic when it was done (my sis even dyed her hair red to look more like Rose and her prom date also went along with the theme as he looked like Jack in his suit)... after all this time, my mom still has that dress stored in a box in her room and every time I watch the movie now, I have flashbacks of seeing my sister getting her prom pics looking just like Kate Winslet in Titanic 🥰

My favorite, is the same one as you! It just looked ethereal for the era. I can imagine, she possesses a kind of unique taste and high confidence to order and don that dress. Absolute stunning.... Isn't it... when a bit of backstory being added-up to the film. I'm aware that Rose is only a fictional character... but, It would't rule out these possibilities. Maybe there are some sameness stories about 'Rose', despite an individual as her was on other cruise ships within those era

I have to go with the travel suit and “flying” dress for day wear, and the white satin w/ mess overlay and pink satin w/ mess overlay for formal wear.

I think my favorite dress might be the flying one because my favorite part in the movie is where rose ans jack fly on the ships bow and I really love her dining jump and swim dresses and the beautiful white dress when she reunited with jack 8n the end
