Portland was the second stop on the road trip, and quite honestly one of the nicest bike rides I've ever been on! Roads and weather were absolutely ideal, the drivers were courteous, and I really missed the Atlantic coast scenery. Somehow I managed to miss seeing any lighthouses, I'll have to fix that next time I make it out this way.

Starting from the Aloft hotel on Commercial Street I follow the road until I hop onto the Eastern Promenade Trail. I stay on that until I cross Tukey's bridge and ride all the way north to Cousins Island, home to Wyman Energy Center. After stopping a moment at the ferry dock to enjoy the view of Casco Bay I head back, following a fork in the road to Yarmouth before continuing south towards Portland again. I circle Back Cove, then cut through downtown to head back to the Old Port and Commercial Street.
