Another road trip ride! I couldn't wait for the Five Boro tour and had to see what proper city riding was like before enjoying the cleared roads the following day.
Heading out from our hotel near the New Jersey entrance to the Holland Tunnel I look for the path along the Hudson River to head to the George Washington Bridge. I quickly give up and just take River Rd all the way north to George Washington Bridge. Before crossing it, I take a short detour around the Palisades Interstate Park.
Once on Manhattan I head down Riverside Dr until it's time to head over to Central Park's north entrance. After doing a couple laps of Central Park I leave via 7th Ave and head to the Hudson River Greenway to ride towards the Staten Island Ferry. I'd planned to take the ferry and then ride back up to Jersey City, but instead opted to see what taking a bike through the PATH subway trains was like.
Riding through NYC was a treat! Next time I've got my bike out in that direction I'll be sure to check out more of the Palisades and Bear Mountain.
