What I love about Will's videos is that he always seems to give his unbiased opinion of the product he's reviewing. Will could probably leverage his audience and expertise and become a great sales mechanism for his own brand, but as great as he might do (and I'm sure he'd hold his manufacturers to a high standard), I feel like it'd be a tradeoff because we'd all lose a big part of the DIY solar community if that were to happen.

I don't have solar yet, but love watching your channel and getting schooled on what to look for and what is good and reliable so that when I do jump into the solar market (as I'm planning to do with my new house ... get occupancy in 2 weeks). Learning about efficiencies, build quality etc. is so important to me so that when I do purchase one I've got a good understanding of what I'm getting. I'm DIY just about everything I do, so that to will be part of the complete package = me doing the installation of the solar panels, inverter, batteries et all.

Hi Will, Since I've got a 3 unit rack system from (also Chinese) PylonTech here in Germany, I noticed something to mention for beginners: With Pylontech 48V batteries, most other battery packs are NOT compatible for "simply connecting them in parallel", due to the different charging voltage. Apart from competitors, Pylontech uses a true 48V pack, means consisting of *15* and not 16 (pouch) cells. So, even using them separate from other battery packs, don't forget to consider a separate charge controller, if not planned anyway.

I know pretty much everything comes from china but they will make anything to your specs, you could eventually maybe get everything swapped out with American made. I am thinking you could make "Will Power" "Will Power Solar" a household battery / solar name? :)

Thanks Will, Canada warehouse has just been stocked (batteries only, cabinets are still crossing the Pacific) but their shipping costs were higher than expected so they increased the price from $1849 to $2099 CAD last week plus $350 CAD charge for LTL freight delivery. AOLithium is still the most affordable option in Canadian Domestic Market at $1800 CAD shipped but they need to get a dealer network in place to be viable.. They did say they recenty sold all their stock and wont get stock in their warehouse until November 25th so somebody is buying them.. I ordered a 20kWh cabinet kit from Ruixu and so far the support has been responsive but agree we will see how it looks when they are busier and returns/warranty issues come up.

@@lakorai2 Actually it was Harper who put them in place 12 years ago. Trudeau is just too stupid to undo it. Every solar panel coming into this country is subject to a 56-300% import tariff because of that idiot as well. The rest of the world is getting panels for less than 40 cents/watt now.

i don't think the rack will ever be UL9540 certified; 20kwh maximum capacity at this time. SOK has the same problem; basically you'll have maximum 3-4 batteries per rack and the racks have to be separated at least 3'. This is how permitting is done in CA now and it's a PIA.

Not sure the powerpro is actually cheaper on a per kWh basis since they are only 14.3kWh Unless you aren't filling up the server rack all the way and buying 4 or less batteries However the powerpro has extra features like heating that could make the extra cost worth it!

I am a power engineer, and I am wondering if I installed my own solar system, would I be able to receive the government rebate. I have been getting quotes from solar companies and I could purchase and install my own system for around 1/3 the cost of the quotes I have been getting. If I use the 3ea quotes that I have then average the prices would I be able to get the 30% rebate and pay myself back for the investment? I figured that if anyone would know about this, it might be you. Please let me know what my best plan should be with the licensing that qualifies me to do electric install, HVAC install, plumbing install, and boiler operating and installation.

China has been the leader in solar, and still is. Where do you think most of the brand names in solar panels and batteries you see here in the US are from? Some manufacturing got moved from China to Vietnam (or elsewhere) as part of the multipronged US sabotage of the BRICS coalition since 2006, but most are still from China. People who do not know the US lies and the US corrupt greed goals are stuck believing US propaganda and the lying con artists in both criminal gangs in government. Like when Trump said that he was putting tariffs on China to help "bring jobs back" - that was pure BS, it was our greedy US sociopaths doing more of their sabotage to impede the BRICS coalition by harming China's economy! BRICS is a good helpful constructive coalition of countries that want to do FAIR deals with each other and help people have better lives, but the US sociopaths REFUSED to join it because the US greedy money ADDICTS want total control and unfair profits, plus they make other governments allow them to EMBEZZLE fiat government money!! Leaders of BRICS countries use their power to issue money ethically, to do the best possible for their people. For instance, China raised almost a BILLION of its people from poverty by doing the manufacturing of so much for the US and other Western countries of the US corruption cartel.
