    I noticed quite a difference in power, I added a 4.0 litre throttle body, 4 hole injectors, and headers, had already done 4.88's 2 years ago, now running 16 inch rims with 35's, highway speed no problem.

    That's awesome Rick! I haven't done the 4.0 throttle body but may give it a try. Thanks!

    If JJ fails to keep you busy. I can drop mine off for a few months. HAHA Did a DIY front end Toe-in on mine today. Easy and fast, sure beats taking it to Corinth 22 miles. Then pay to have it done. Also find lots of extra power on my 2.5. Swapped out the 31's for 205/75R15's unreal how much better it pulls now.

    Steve, I wish I had 1/2 of the automotive mechanical skills you possess. That being said, I'm going to give you a hard time anyway. You gave JJ a show quality, straight and slick as glass paint job, but didn't invest in one rattle can of paint on that engine rebuild! LOL

    Thanks Mark. Painted engine at 11:35. You must have missed the still photo I Inserted into the video. Somewhere before the engine is in JJ. The video thumbnail is of the painted engine. Looks good and black. Thanks for watching!

    Wow! Congrats, Steve! Awesome project and really glad at the outcome. 2,000 rpm for 20 minutes? That’s a long time to hold the pedal steady. Did you have a magic trick? How long (days/hours) did the whole project take, not counting waiting for parts or the machine shop?

  • @ForceBuilt

    @ForceBuilt

    No magic trick lol. I held it at 2000 to 2300 while my brother monitored what was going on under the hood. I put the crank and pistons in on Fri. Saturday I put the head on and oil pan. I realized I needed rockers(Delay, had to order online). Rockers came in and I put them on the next Fri and finished painting. Installed the engine Saturday. Broke it in Monday night Thanks for watching Ed!

    @@edvancise there was one day in there where I took the engine out that I didn't account for. It is a pretty involved job, but doable.

    hey man i’ve got the same problem in mine, cracked piston skirt. wanted to know what you thought about trying to just clean it out and put new pistons in it if the bores aren’t damaged

  • @ForceBuilt

    @ForceBuilt

    3 жыл бұрын

    That will work. And it should last a good while. The problem can be that the bores are out of round even though they look good. That's the way mine was. Good luck!

    What about the oil filter adapter was it hard to come lose and did it take a gasket. Thanks

  • @ForceBuilt

    @ForceBuilt

    2 жыл бұрын

    I did not replace anything there. There is the part that the oil filter screws onto(all threads). The filter seat(where the filter seals) is made to the block. Thanks for watching!

    As a Jeep YJ 2.5 1995 owner myself interesting to watch the rebuild process. However just wish you had given more info on your rebuild part choices . Are they your choices or the machine shop recommendations? Wish you had shown the cylinder head surface finish, and the type of gasket used on this. Was it MLS=multi layer steel or composite type, MLS are supposedly surface finish critical ref sealing properties. I have no experience with this issue, so interested to hear others guidance or comments

    Thanks for watching Colin. I went totally with what the machine shop ordered me. This was my first rebuild and I really trust this guy! I went to school with him and he will not steer me wrong. Sorry, I don't know the details. Engine now has 12k on it and runs great!

    did you have to take the valve cover back off when you re-installed the engine? How much can you put back on the motor when its out and still re-install it?

  • @ForceBuilt

    @ForceBuilt

    I did take the valve cover off to make sure I got oil up to the rockers. I put everything on in the engine bay. Manifold, compressor, alternator, and such. I have the video where I took it out. That may show what you need to know because that is the way I put it back in. Thanks for watching

    Noticed you did not add any sealant at the 4 corners on the oil pan gasket, any leaks??

  • @ForceBuilt

    @ForceBuilt

    2 жыл бұрын

    I just watched the video trying to remember. I was thinking I was test fitting in that part of the video. I honestly don't remember if I went back and used sealant or not. If I did it would only be at the corners of the front cover. To answer your question, no leaks at all. Bone dry. Thanks for watching!
